Showing is going to be your stable's main income here on HEE. You can either show your horses SD (single discipline) or AD (all discipline). After having shown my horses in both SD and AD I have found that AD earns me more EBs. I know many players who show SD and make a good income, but that never worked well for me so I will be discussing how to show AD. Ultimately, you will have to find a show routine that works for you.
For my show string, I use PPP+ rated mares or geldings who are level 3+. Many players do not use mares in their show string because they supposedly take longer to level up unless they are put on cycle suppressants which will cost you extra EBs. However, none of my show mares are on cycle suppressants and they make me just as many EBs as my geldings.
To start showing you need to hire and pay riders. Try to make sure each of your riders is training a full 10 horses. You save more money this way by having 25 horses spread out across 3 riders (you will only have to pay 3 riders) versus having 25 horses spread out across 5 riders (which means you will have to pay 5). You can accomplish this by buying geldings who are all training at the same level.
Now, onto showing! Horses earn the most EBs when their show dates are green. However, those show dates wont turn green on their own! My show routine can be summed up in these 3 steps:
1. Enter horses whose show dates are green
2. Enter any horses whose show dates are older than 4 weeks
3. Enter the oldest excluding the newly leveled
Quick note! How do you tell a horse is newly leveled? If they have place 1-7, but their show date isn't green it means they have recently leveled up and won't be competitive. Here is a photo of some newly leveled horses on my show page:
Here is a photo of how I entered all my horses in shows this week:
- Green is horses whose show dates are green
- Blue is older than 4 weeks
- Red is oldest excluding the newly leveld
- I skipped some horses because none of their dates are profitable. I will show them again in 1-2 weeks.
To put it into simpler terms, you should look at 3 show dates and ask yourself the following questions:
1. Are any of those dates green? If yes, then enter!
2. Are any of those dates older than 4 weeks? If yes, then enter!
3. Do any of those dates show a newly leveled horse? If yes, then don't enter them in that discipline. Check the other two dates.
I currently have 750 show horses and with this routine I make about $3 million EBS in time for every RO. But, please keep in mind getting to where I am took devotion and patience. I started out with only 25 show geldings. Using money I earned from shows I saved up and made it to 50, then 100, then 200, etc.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions at all!
