Hello! You may have seen me as Voidweaver posting about Kladruber/grayscale pricing before. I've come back with a different grayscale, mostly seeking help what to do with the background. While I think I have great technical skills, I'm severely lacking in the creative department. I've no idea how to make the piece more interesting, and I'm not sure what would be the best use for it. Simple background slapped in? A border around the horse? A flower border? Some sort of double exposure editing? Should it just stay transparent like it is now? ^ slightly smaller than HEE horse image size. Full Size + Reference (sta.sh/deviantart link) If I sell recolors of this, the customers would be getting full size images they can resize. * As for pricing, I only want opinions on recolors. Either on this specific piece, or if you'd buy recolors of a different pose/breed. Commissions/full customs (grayscale or painting from scratch each time) is way too time consuming. I do not have the mental capacity to make more than one a month and even then it could take *several* months to actual finish. Art that is less painting and more cell or soft shading with full on lineart is too frustrating for me. * Some talking points, no need to answer every one ~ * 1. Would you buy recolors of this headshot? 2. Would you prefer custom manes or is the default fine? 3. Would you pay extra for breed edits? (sport horse to AA, for instance) 4. If you would not buy recolors, why? 5. What sort of background would you want? 6. Do you think the horses body should be faded a bit, or covered up? Maybe more fleshed out? 7. If your horse was the seal brown drawn above, would you feel content in paying $50k-$75k for it? 8. If the price was $50k-$75k, but the horse you wanted colored in was much more complex (lots of dilutions, lots of differing white patterns, brindle + sooty, etc), would you be okay paying $20k-$30k more? (of course, it depends entirely on the horse in question.* 9. Lastly, would you use this image as an avatar, banner, horse image, or another purpose? (HEE only) * *A complex looking horse may actually have genes simple enough for me replicate. Certain colors like bay or duns are not particularily easy for me replicate. Holy shit, I mean that's ridiculously incredible. Would love to see original image just as a comparison point. I totally understand you wanting to stay away from customs but if you ever change your mind in that category, PLEASE reach out to me 😉❤️ 1. Most definitely 2. No opinion 3. yes!!! 4. Nonapplicable 5. some sort of faded, just mute background with maybe some bokeh floaty things - colored 6. I'm personally happy as is but if you wasted to, I suppose you could fade out the neck edge 7. yes! 8. Yes! 9. Would use as an about us image

Uh. Wow. That is fucking amazing! I agree with Gem, seeing the original image would be great. And I would also love to know if you ever do do customs. 1. Yep! 2. Either would work, the default would be fine for most horses, I think. 3. Definitely! 4. Again, I agree with Gem; nonapplicable. 5. Something neutral, maybe a soft ombre? 6. I don't have a big opinion on this one, but I might fade it around the neck. 7. Yesss! 8. Yes! 9. I would use it as an about us, maybe an avi or horse avi as well.

I mean wow. Seeing the reference makes it even more phenomenal. Especially from red roan to this amazing seal 😍

ooh do you know what if you maybe put a muted oil-painty splogy colour background and did custom paintings of peoples horses you could make crazy money

added a red roan example to the full image link! I'll test out the bg idea, Thistleberry! Thank you ~ and yes, some have offered $500k straight up without even discussing it 😂 but I don't think I can actually deliver - many people would end up with unfinished art or they'd take a really long time to complete.

The red roan is flipping amazing. How long do the recolors take?
