Okay. I need help. Does anyone know a way to make a good looking lace pattern on GIMP? I honestly can't figure a way out.

Download a dapple brush. Select the top of the horse with the select tool where you'll add the lace. Go to select>Float and then take the Dapple brush and click in the selceted part to make a Lace pattern. That's the only way I know.

Probably the best brush there is. Open the image in GIMP, fuzzy select it, and Edit>Copy then Edit>Paste As New Brush

This is what I got. I took a downloaded dapple brush (not the one Hollow posted) and I used a brush size 60 to paint on the dapple where the lace pattern was needed. Then I put it on grain merge (keep in mind this was on a separate layer than the horse itself) and changed the opacity until it looked good. Then I used another layer with a sponge brush and when lightly over top of the dapple/lace pattern. After that I adjusted the opacity of that as well until it looked good, then I merged the two layers and blurred them very very mildly to give them a soft look.
Hope this helps anyone trying to figure out the lace pattern XD
