recently, i started working for somebody at my yard who has 7 horses. She can't excersise them all as she is elderly, so she pays me to ride them. I jump them, do dressage, even XC. She started off with paying me 15 euros an hour, which i was happy about seeing as i love being around horses and it was easy enough for me to do it. But then she recently started telling me "Oh, you ride my horses so you should pay for their feed/farrier/bills ect." i was very confused and told her that they werent my horses so it wasnt my responsibility to pay for them, at all. She was a little annoyed but i continued working for her. But then she kept dropping my earnings. First it went down to 12, then 10, and now its at 5. im really not getting much out of it seeing as her horses are nervous and hard tpo ride, and im only getting payed a little above minimum wage. Its a shame because i do like the woman and her horses, and its a lovely job to do, but i just don't think i can keep going.

Yeah, she can't drop your wages without your consent. That's just incredibly rude. If she can't afford the horses and to pay you, then she needs to downsize on the amount of horses she has.

i know, i find it incredibly disrespectful. And i totally agree on the hhorse thing. Although from what and how she said it, i think she was thinking that i got some form of benefit or something from riding her horses, almost saying i should pay her to be riding her horses even though i allready have 2 of my own and plenty to ride. Just strange. FirstLightFarms said: Yeah, she can't drop your wages without your consent. That's just incredibly rude. I would just tell her, that you have your own to feed, train, pay for and that you are happy to ride her horses for (set price). You are an exercise rider, not signing a contract for a lease. That's really not fair of her at all
