Just saw a post on a local swap and shop of them needing to rehome their 2 cats because she is pregnant. Worst thing is she is just giving them away for free which will likely end up in bad situations. Personally I don't get why you need to rehome family just because you are pregnant. I have a cat allergy have been allergic to cats all of my life. That doesn't stop me I love cats. I've gotten used to my cats but when I'm around other cats my allergies act up. Now I'm pregnant and I have 3 cats my allergies have acted up since being pregnant but I don't go and give away my family just cause I'm pregnant. I don't get how people can be like that well that's my rant.

Toxoplasmosis...And she could easily be considered a high risk pregnancy.

Had a friend that was never allergic to cats through her entire life. She had to give away her cats when she got pregnant by a doctors recommendation due to her just all of a sudden being insanely allergic, and it was damn near killing her. I understand your frustration, but you really dont know the situation. Pregnancy does all sorts of weird things to you. You see it all working in the medical field man.

Yeah but that doesn't mean you can't take care of cats. You just have to be careful and wear gloves when cleaning the litter box. You can't live on a bubble Edited at March 10, 2023 04:04 PM by CaptureParty

You don't know her situation. It's highly ill advised for a pregnant woman to handle anything concerning the litterbox. There's a multitude of reasons on why the cats might need to be rehomed.

Not only allergies and health issues.. but anxiety as well. Same friend became scared of absolutely everything on planet earth, lol. You can develop fears of things that you never wouldve thought youd be scared of before in your life when you get pregnant, and it can just incline after you give birth. And yes. This can include cats youve been around for years. Its highly likely. But you cant get upset when you have no clue what her exact situation is, or why she made this decision. It could be much better for the cats to be rehomed. And if shes scoping out potential owners like she should be, then the cats should end up in a great home. She just needs them gone, that doesnt mean she doesnt give two craps about their well being, you know? Edited at March 10, 2023 04:13 PM by Foggy Forest Stables
