Hello HEE! I've recently been interested in owning some amphibians, after ruling out a lizard or a turtle. I want to plan for two dart frogs, ideally with 3 or so fish (or shrimp) in a water feature. I've been doing some research and people say for a set up like that you should have at least a 20 gallon tank. However at one of our local animal centres, the largest tank (and a little bit pricey at that) is 10 gallons. I did find one on amazon that was actually a bit cheaper that had the required size, but I'm worried about it getting broken in the mail. The one at the store is a large tank dimensions wise, the fish I'm looking at are small (the shrimp even smaller lol), so could I get away with the one in the store or should I look elsewhere?
My other question was does anyone know of a europe based breeder or store that sells dart frogs? All I can find are US stores, and even if they do ship to France I dont want the frogs making such a long trip. I'd like to find one so I can look at accurate prices rather then the $50 of the US.
If you have any other tips I'd be very happy to hear them! They'd be my first amphibians, although I've had three sets of fish in my life time. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!
