You should definitely go. It's the best way to get your confidence back! I do the same thing with art/riding/biking, etc. The best way to go back to anything, is to just keep doing it! You can only gain more confidence by practicing/getting back into practice! Good luck! ^^

Perhaps talking with a shrink would help you solve the problem. No one on HEE knows you well enough, or was privi to the events leading up to your refusal to go, to offer any suggestions really.

Perhaps your interests are starting to change? You can love and adore horses to the worlds end and not want to ride. Having been riding since 2016 might mean your ready to do something else or it was a 4 year phase? I used to love riding and one day, I just started preferring groundwork and grooming, even just sitting and watching my boy graze.

You could just be in a slump? I go through those sometimes as well where I feel less motivated. I just push through and keep going, I always bounce back and get the motivation again too. I'd go back and just see what happens and see how you feel. If you're lacking in the confidence department tell your trainer, I'm sure they can help bring that confidence and desire to ride back lol
