Doesn't matter, shit happens. Horses can be unpredictable. It only takes once for either of you to be seriously hurt. 😕

I'm also really into bridleless. After switching from one riding school to the next and learning a few things along the way, I'm a strong believer in bridleless and bitless riding and refuse to ride in harsh bits (such as pelhams) anymore. I've ridden with lots of different trainers and they all have very different opinions, but in the end I think it's up to you to form your own opinion :)

Totally appreciate that Cali, but no animal is 100% anything. Its like my sheep-trained terrier with fantastic recall still goes on a lead to go past livestock- its not fair or worth it to put him in a position for something to happen. Personally I'd just chuck a side pull on so theres something for other people to look at (and to help hold him if something were to happen) and ride the same way you would without a bridle

There is no such thing as a 100% bombproof horse. If you are under 18 your parents are responsible if something happens and I understand why they say no

I understand that your horse is bombproof and safe to ride tackless or bridle less, but, i promise you (bad promise though) you will have a few fails, when riding bridle less, it's not easy, even if you have been working on it for a long time..

That is where I'm being pushed. I do understand everyone's concerns but he is bombproof and 100% safe when bridleless.
I've got until December to convince the show hosts so I've been working so hard to keep working on bridleless. I even take him out into the fields tackless and he's always perfect

Cali, brideless is indeed super cool! You should try to talk to your parents about it, because if your horse/lease/horse you are riding is apt to ride bridleless, it should be just fine <3

Do your parents not let you because they think it's dangerous?

Maybe meet in the middle with a bitless bridle? I can see from a "safety of other people" aspect why they wouldnt want a horse at a show with no bridle at all, but its always seemed odd to me that bits are often a firm requirement

Cali, i own a KWPN stallion, who is 7, we do bridle less and bare back all the time, and compete bridle less, and jump 140cm bridle less.. we do it for 3 years now, and at first we got hate as well, but now people are excited and happy to see me and him compete bridle less. Just try to compete bridle less, if you like it (and don't hurt yourself) you can continue! That's my advice..

Its not against the rules technically but my parents won't let me at all, and they're not even equestrians

If it's not against the rules, do it anyway and show off. Bridleless is cool

And then I argue with some people about it and this is what I get "Its not all about you, horses should have a bit in no matter what your doing"

Like no! I'm not sticking metal in my horses mouth to make strangers happy

So I'm very into liberty work with my horse, as well as bridle less.
We're looking into a show for December, it isn't graded and is just a training show. I really want to go bridleless but am getting a fair amount of hate. It just really upset me

I'm specifically asking Eve and/or the mods.
Is it OK to use stock from pexels.com, since it says free stock photos, as long as I credit the image? And what format would it be best to credit the image? Like this? www.pexels.com/photo/abstract-astrology-astronomy-big-bang-414826/
Or pexels.com?

Here's a link to the rules. To me, it looks like it's ok as long as I credit it...

So when you are on the image page, in the righthand corner it says the username of the person who provided it or "Source: Pixabay" and you can click on the link. Click it and it redirects you to Pixabay's website. Now in the upper righthand corner you see a username, in this case 'spirit111'. You would want to credit that user, so spirit111@pixabay.

If the pexels website has a username, you'd credit that username @pexels.

That specific image, however, does not look like it is stock. When I went to the user's about me (it is in German but I translated to English) it states that it is not his photography but he 'shaped the images' which I'm guessing means most of his work is just created from other images. Due to that, I don't know if I would use that image because I don't feel it is stock.

A lot of the images on pexels and pixabay can be hit and miss as far as whether they are stock or not. It is very tricky so I tend to tell people to avoid using it for that reason. A good tip is to right click on the image you want to use > Search Google for Image. If it comes up all over the web, chances are it is not stock.

Hope that helps! Feel free to contact a Mod directly or respond here with any other questions. If you are confused, PM me. :)

The guy who has the pic I just posted has about 8 or 9 cameras in his 'About Me' thing. I searched Google for 'pics of alpine, calm, clouds' and I only see the pic once, and that's on the pexels website.
