I had a coworker get a case where the doctor wrote a letter that stated "This is why (guy who killed UHC CEO) did what he did." Pretty sure it got escalated as a death threat.

this is my favourite retail story of mine.

a customer came in after closing - Mon-Fri the deli closes at 8pm while the rest of the store closes at 9pm - and demands food. the deli was visibly closed, too. the lights were off and all the stuff in the case was covered in plastic, the seafood was put away, there were SIGNS UP ON THE DAMN CASE saying "we are closed go away".

I politely tell this lady that we're closed and she proceeds to argue with me. I was at the end of a 9 hour shift and was beyond exhausted at that point, so I had little patience for her nonsense. we argued for about 5 minutes before she goes "how will you compensate me for this inconvenience" and I very loudly said "we won't! we're closed! it sucks to suck!"

she goes to the manager on duty who's one of my closest friends to complain, and he goes "well... they *are* closed. it *does* suck to suck."

Have to chime in here, I worked for CVS. Had a drunk guy come in around closing, go to the restroom, and come out naked. Yep, as the day he was born. He said he thought he was home and going to take a shower.

I don't even have a degree. I got 'lucky' and got my foot in the door, but then the family friend who got me in retired and we also had a new director come in, and that's when it got really really bad.

Gosh im glad im not customer facing haha. When I worked at a riding school I had a kid refuse to ride a pony because it was the wrong colour once- that didn't go down well funnily enough haha

Boss writing me up for fear mongering when I told coworkers the doctor told me I most likely had covid but I didn't qualify for a test early 2020 when that all kicked off (she told me I just had a bad sinus infection. I got further in trouble after I asked her when and where she got her medical degree?)

I no longer work at a library. lol. Now I go sling boxes at Amazon where I have no customer/patron interaction.

Worst incident I remember? We had to start locking the public restrooms. Someone decided to smear waste matter all over the bathroom... Not once. Not twice... but on three separate occasions. Grown ass adults too.

Yeah, I mean I wish people wouldn't do it, but also I'm not going to tell someone they have to hold onto their art piece after they get booted. That's not my place, even as the host of the Rumble

Yes!! I get the frustration of someone auctioning off their piece/outing themselves right after losing a round and how that affects SSCNs, but at the same time, money. And chances are, if you wait till Rumble is over, you might not get the same bang for your buck at auction while everyone is vying over winners' pieces.

I do think there is a happy medium, though. Like if you get booted in one of the earlier rounds, you could wait a round or two before auctioning/revealing yourelf :P

What if we made it a separate, optional contest?

Like let's say we start it after a minimum of 10 rumble contestants have signed up (for the guessing, not the actual rumble). These people will refrain from auctioning off their art, but will also be allowed to try and guess other artists, and of course other people can join too.

In this way it's completely optional as to whether you auction your art, or remain anonymous during the entirety of the rumble and the guessing competition
