Omg that would be horrible lol. I imagine peanut butter would work well too, but the glob has to be pretty big. Like kind of absurdly big lol

He has fleas as well, just shows you how much people don't care to put them up for adoption or something, honestly I bet if we took him he wouldn't even notice, he's at our house for about 15 hours per day.

That’s where the cream cheese was handy, its so sticky that its hard to just eat around it and if you kind of swipe it onto the roof of their mouth they naturally lick it all back and down goes the drugs lol

We try not to give dairy since it upsets her stomach, last thing we need is a blow out ontop of the unpleasant indoor floor wetting 😭🤣

My dog used to be horrible with taking pills. He was one of those that would eat the food and spit out the pill no mater what you put it in, now I can just toss it in with his kibble and he doesn't know the difference lol

My neighbor has a dog, he's a young lab, I'd say about 18 months at the most and the guy is in the military so he's never home and the pup doesn't get any attention. Besides the fact that WE give him food and affection.

We caught it early thankfully, shes normally super good about "getting" someone to take her out by insisted staring and pawing at the front door so when she started using the bathroom in the house and a strong smell we took her to the vet, she was due for a vist anyway

Oh Green that’s the worst. We had to have emergency bladder surgery on our boy dog last year and it was a whole thing plus a large vet bill to go with. Hope your pup feels better soon!

Yesterday (April 5th 2023)
Was a great day! :)
I had a difficult day personally, but Maple was a super good boy and we had a great ride.
Rode around the property. He's still unsure about being in the brush areas, but he was a lot calmer, and we got closer to it than before. I'm guessing its going to take a little while for him to be completely comfortable being there and walking through it, but progress!
We also did a little bit of trot work! He was very calm and quiet and round. Super good boy.
Oh we also went through some obstacles :D (tarps, pool noodles, bridge, etc). Got some nice lateral work too
We practiced going in and out of the round pen aswell and he was very good.
All around a great ride :)
.
For groundwork we did lunging over poles as our main thing and a bunch of other stuff in the round pen. I did set up some barrels for him to jump but he didnt want to so thats okay. I think once the footing gets better he'll want to jump more
I might do some smaller jumps too to get him back in the swing of things.
His topline is coming along nicely too :)
.
Things I need to do:
hand walk him outside the property
hand walk him in the brush more often
Things to keep working on:
topline! w/t all around the property

Today (April 8th 2023)
Was a bit of a difficult day, but we worked through it
Started in the round pen, did a little lunging with poles but he wasn't super interested in it so we didnt do a ton lol
Brushed him out because he was super dusty and then got on and had a nice ride in the round pen with a super nice round trot. Very proud of him!
But honestly I felt a little bored, and could tell he was too so I opened the gate and we rode around the property (he was very good at maneuvering over sideways so that I could get the gate open).
Overall very good however when we got to a muddy and a little wet part near the pond, he just refused to go forward/through the mud. I was getting frustrated, so we rode around the property and then came back. Same thing. Tried a bunch of different things under saddle but he kept refusing, so I got off and worked him through it on the ground. He ended up jumping over the mud like 20 times LOL before realizing he could just step through it. Safe to say he got a good workout today lmao. But he figured it out and I was proud of him. Practiced it in a couple different areas too. Similar-ish reaction, but he caught on quicker. We'll keep practicing it until he just steps through everytime.
I turned him out in the roundpen while I worked and then once the pasture was available he got pasture time :)
Hes definitely getting a lot more comfortable riding around the property and he seems happy so Im really happy and proud of him. Also all the topline and getting round/inframe work we've been doing on the ground is definitely paying off he's so lovely undersaddle. Topline is still a work in progress but its coming along!

I think today really made me realize how green he is on trails under saddle. He'll follow me pretty much anywhere on the ground and we've done a ton of groundwork and obstacle courses and arena work, but on trail its just different for him. But hes trying hard and being a very good boy, and I'm very proud of him :D
Just got to get more trail miles on him and more practice.

I will fight you on that nickname later lmaoo

Yesterday (April 11th 2023)
Was a pretty quiet day. Braided his mane and brushed him out
Did a little polework in the round pen but it was pretty hot and so we didnt do too much because I dont think anybody enjoys running around getting a core workout while sweating profusely LOL
Then I turned him out in the pasture for a couple hours until I had to go. We did a little obstacle course on the ground and then put him back for the night.
I do need to start walking him outside the property, I've just been really busy and tired lately.
On a different note though, I want to start doing shows with him soon :D
