Yeah I had a OB tell me that I needed to lose weight and my PCOS would be resolved 🙃 glad I didnt have her after all when I was pregnant with my last baby
Which is a true thing Holly, however people that have insulin resistance (such as myself) which is caused by PCOS have an insanely hard time loosing weight due to our bodies turning every little bit of sugar into fat since it has no idea how to process it
Ally, Yes it sure is. I was diagnosed with PCOS around 14-15 yrs old. I am now 24 and my last doctor (who just left) told me that my PCOS is caused by my weight gain. Ummmm more like its the other way around?? Female doctor as well but they know nothing about this to support their female clients.
My insurance has been a hassle lately. So has my doctor but...I'm switching to a new primary doctor who seems to be more open and caring so we'll see how it goes.
Your insurance should have a member portal where you can search providers. Look up either specialty there and you'll be able to get a list. From there, you can narrow down based on location. Otherwise, you'll have to do leg work and call to see if they're accepting patients
I wish PCOS wasn't so hard to diagnose. My doctor says theres no way to prove whether or not someone has it(I think I do so I asked) and it wasn't worth looking into
My older sister had cyst so big thelat when she finally got pregnant (after surgery to remove most of them) she ended up having to have a c section and apparently she got cut the opposite way ? Because the cyst was so big and blocking her birth canal. So we are all concerned about my younger sister now
