But also it's recommended that I remove the eggs after 3 weeks. I never really intended on them being parents, they had a fake egg already but apparently that didn't stop them from laying their own lol. I don't want to strain my female too much though. So I'm hoping once they realise it won't hatch then they will write off babies this year and not lay any more. Can't say that'll happen for sure though.
I don't believe so. My best bet would be to potentially find a baby fallen from a nest and give it to them to raise. Apparently pigeons have insanely strong maternal instincts so would likely take to caring for it well. And every year we have babies who fall from their nests across the road. Thats how I ended up with my boy. But the chances of me finding another alive baby are pretty low.
I'm a little late but that's actually do sad. Maybe there's a foster system you can look into? Like foster eggs? I'd bawl if my animals took the time to make and raise something that ended up dying, it would actually break me.
