08:30:14 [1k brindles] Angel I think I am going to get the coop then start to find some little babies. By the time I get the coop and find them it should be starting to warm up when they are old enough to go outside |
08:28:41 Snow❆Gem @angels
Oh, I've read a bunch. If your down there, you can keep them in until 5 or 6 weeks. Up here it could be until 7 weeks...
@ven
And rabbit hutch now-a-days are mostly junk. >.> |
08:28:10 Awh I don't mind mice, they're cute and just go about their business 🤣 the rats will be about somewhere, generally cold weather makes their presence more known |
08:25:43 Snow❆Gem @hawkeye
Oh dear! We have mice,(they have gotten into the attic and in the vehicles, little buggers!) but no sign of rats. But they can go large distances, so they may show up sometime. |
08:25:06 Ven I never had any issues with keeping my rabbits outside seasonally, but those hutches were freakin tanks |
08:23:51 [1k brindles] Angel We have predators around but not around our apartment and the coop will be by our front door. I will still take precautions though obviously.
Gem Yes I have always wanted quail! I love them. I am starting to look for a coop but I don't know if I should go ahead and get chicks and keep them inside until they are old enough or wait because we are in the middle of winter (but georgia winters aren't real winters xD) |
08:23:18 Snow❆Gem @hawkeye
I'm in PA, USA. :D |
08:22:59 @snow Stable, yeah they're pretty relentless creatures aren't they! Esp when there's endless other food sources yet they choose to torment my poultry, luckily I work in pest control can deal with them, but it literally never ending |
08:22:31 Snow❆Gem @ven
Oh nice! I think there would be those too, but hunters killed them off... Oh! I did see a fisher here once! :D Looks like a giant ferret. |
08:21:19 Thankfully we don't have those in England, just buzzards, rats, my neighbours out if control dogs and their cats, we live rural but *touch wood* no issued with foxes |
08:20:40 Snow❆Gem @hawkeye
Oh crickey! I've researched and found 1/4 hardware cloth is the only they to foil rats! O.o |
08:20:03 Ven Sounds like where I'm from, but add coyotes and bobcats. And fisher cats. |
08:18:55 Snow❆Gem We have bears, foxes, raccoons, porcupines, opossum, squirrel, chipmunks, snakes, hawks, others peoples cats, etc. O.o |
08:16:47 I'll add, the quail were in a metal pigeon loft and a thick wooden door, the rats climbed up, chewed through the top corner of the door, unalived all the quail for no other reason than to end them. |
08:16:39 How do we find out who our Secret Santa is? |
08:14:49 Snow❆Gem @angel
Ohhh! Quail! XD Mom is more interested in getting quail then rabbits, so after the holidays I'm gonna being giving more info about them. ;P |
08:14:24 Never underestimate predators, we lost all out quail to rats. I'm at constant war with cats wanting my chickens |
08:11:31 [1k brindles] Angel Yeah I think I am going to get it anyways. I don't mind modifying it if needed and all the people talking about predators getting in I'm not worried about that because where it is will be is so out in the open and roads on either side of my apartment there are no predators around |
08:10:57 Syrdar = Myth XD Stud suggestions? -HEE Click- |
08:09:35 I'm yet to buy a flat pack coop I've had to make some sort of changes too, along as size is good. Anything else can be modified |
