Yeah, I am in clinicals at the hospital where I was a patient the first time I was in a psych ward and to this day I refuse to go up there and x-ray patients because I am almost positive I will have a major PTSD moment.

I think psych wards seriously need to be evaluated and changed. Instead of being helped, I was traumatized and treated poorly at a time when I needed help.

Wore normal clothes but they went through your items to make sure you didnt have drugs, weapons or other things that should not enter that place

I was hospitalized in psych ward twice. Thankfully they were ok with me wearing my own clothes, but they made me wear a hospital gown the first day because they HAD to wash your clothes. It felt super uncomfortable and dehumanizing to wear a hospital gown that wouldnÂ’t button in the back when there were lots of men on there.
