So. I'm in the market for a new tablet and I am just incredibly indecisive right now. I have a long history with Wacom tablets. I've had four(?) or so of them over the years. I am extreme heavy user so on three of them I've just totally worn out the surface just from long, long frequent use. My current one is still usable, it is just slightly broken from something my son Oliver did to it. It still works, just gets a little wonky on me occasionally. So I'd like to replace it before it totally craps out on me and I'm then scrambling to replace it.
Now, I really don't know if I want to go back to Wacom. I am heavily leaning towards something else. I feel with Wacom you are more paying for the name more than anything.
This is my current tablet (but blue and not a refurbished)
https://www.amazon.com/Wacom-CTL490DW-Intuos-Creative-Tablet/dp/B01N8XUMJI/ref=pd_day0_hl_147_7?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01N8XUMJI&pd_rd_r=87df0ab0-3002-11e9-aa46-c39cdcdc9328&pd_rd_w=OPt9s&pd_rd_wg=IdMrx&pf_rd_p=ad07871c-e646-4161-82c7-5ed0d4c85b07&pf_rd_r=56S3Z4055FCQAQJM9AJX&psc=1&refRID=56S3Z4055FCQAQJM9AJX
Now really, the only thing I like about this tablet is its size. I don't need a huge tablet, so the compact size is a bonus. But that is basically it, it's a pretty simple and straight forward tablet. This tablet only has 1024 levels of pressure.
This is the Wacom tablet that I'm looking at next.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079J7DCXN?ref=emc_p_m_5_i&th=1
It comes with three other software which I literally *CAN'T* use because my laptop doesn't have a diskdrive. So... pointless. Plus, they are photo editing programs which... I have Adobe. So again, pointless. This tablet does have 4096 levels of pressure, so that's a big jump up from my current tablet. Also, this tablet has a wireless feature built in, which is a plus. Cool, but not really needed.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BWDJ2CQ/ref=sspa_dk_detail_8?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07BWDJ2CQ&pd_rd_w=IA136&pf_rd_p=10ebaf99-73de-4f5d-a994-e7f5fc52f86f&pd_rd_wg=YgMDC&pf_rd_r=YBZ9M2BVT6B07VJTEEMZ&pd_rd_r=810236f6-3000-11e9-b753-7fe8787a53f8
Then comes this tablet that I was looking at. It is from a brand I don't know, but then again I've been pretty brand loyal to Wacom until this purchase. This tablet has even more pressure levels at 8192. Not wireless. But, it seems like a pretty nifty tablet and going by the few reviews people seem to like it. It is also slightly less in cost than Wacom. Con is that it is a little big.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078YR2MTF/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B078YR2MTF&pd_rd_w=hHxlv&pf_rd_p=10ebaf99-73de-4f5d-a994-e7f5fc52f86f&pd_rd_wg=dPBq6&pf_rd_r=30PVYRV7J3NR7A7CSBF3&pd_rd_r=6d155b32-3000-11e9-b749-21300a56b15d
This is another XP-Pen that I was looking at. Other than it being like 8x more pressure levels than my current tablet (again at 8192) it seems pretty on par to my current tablet.
https://www.amazon.com/Inspiroy-Battery-free-Sensitivity-User-defined-Shortcuts/dp/B079HHZ63W/ref=pd_day0_hl_147_8?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B079HHZ63W&pd_rd_r=f7354f57-3000-11e9-910d-c707fb6d7b72&pd_rd_w=WAATD&pd_rd_wg=pcu4q&pf_rd_p=ad07871c-e646-4161-82c7-5ed0d4c85b07&pf_rd_r=KSZ3Q1NPP2ZFZNVXE5K9&psc=1&refRID=KSZ3Q1NPP2ZFZNVXE5K9
And lastly is a Huion tablet. This brand was recently recommended to me, and frankly I'm amazed by what I see for the price of the tablets. This is the tablet that I think I am leaning towards the most out of the lot.
So... all of you who have tablets. I know most have Wacom, but what is everyone's thoughts? Especially to those who have brands other than Wacom. Edited at February 13, 2019 09:03 PM by Jericho Stables

I've had them both. I've had one bamboo and three different versions of Intuos. Which they are all great. But looking at the number of pressure levels from Wacom to other brands? Makes me iffy.

I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Digital-Graphic-Drawing-PTH660/dp/B01MQU5LW7/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=wacom+intuos+pro+medium&qid=1550113937&s=gateway&sr=8-1
I purchased it on black Friday. Before that, I used the one you are currently using. Except not blue... the silver one.
I really enjoy it. The extra working space is fabulous and the new pen is lovely. The nibs dont last quite as long on the new pen though. I really enjoy the touch feature. (can use it as a massive trackpad for my laptop if im not arting) and I believe it also has Bluetooth, though I use the chord.
A wee bit pricey. But I highly recommend it.

I not for a second doubt that there are better options than Wacom. I'll do some digging real fast. Jericho Stables said:

That is the updated version of my second tablet lol. I've been hard on these suckers ='D
But yeah, I think out of the Intuos that one was my favorite. The one I have now is nice little basic one, gets the job done.

And I really like the look of this one. There is a review of it on the other Huion I posted. I really like the incline it has. But the two pens it come with are battery (rechargeable) which I don't know if I like. But they operate for 800 hours fully charged,

I know a few people who use Huion and they're very satisfied with them. I'll see which ones they have if I can catch them.
I'm not much help personally because I saved up for like four years and bought a Cintiq from Wacom (lol - also brand loyal to them). I don't have a disk drive for my Macbook either but since they have all the drives on their site so I didn't have a problem getting it all set up - though I know the extra stuff is annoying.

I don't have a diskdrive either. But Huion does have downloadable drivers.
