Caden gritted his teeth, though this time not in anger or frustration at her, it was anger and frustration towards himself. His smirk, disappearing in the darkness. Remember him being known as a...a 'dick'? He too considered himself one, in all honesty, of course. He can take things to extreme measures and take his dickness' too far, which usually ends up getting backfired at him at some point. He had just started a very, very, stupid argument, and for what reason? Was it because he was concerned about her injuries, and then wanted to keep leading onto her questions that she asked to piss her off? He succeeded that portion, and the leading on of questions probably wasn't needed to do so if he were, to be honest.

He listened to her speak, she had her rights to of course. Caden was being more of a dick than usual. The truth was Anya didn't do anything wrong, and yeah, the asshole did miss the fiesty girl, but was he going to come out straight forward and admit that with no bickering? No, he would for sure bust his ego.

Still listening to Anya, he grabbed the plastic water bottle and took another drink out of it. After, putting the cap back on and setting it down quietly on the counter. His eyes widened slightly as she furthermore questioned him. He started the questioning, and she was finishing it off. Though, the more she asked the more his eyes widened. Caden's not in high school or middle school anymore, he knew who initiated the kiss, it was him. They both knew that answer. The words hurt. He knew he was a dick, but damn. His mouth opened as if he wanted to talk but nothing came out, just silence crickets making their music in the night, under the moon's light.

She was amused by the situation, I mean it is written all over her little face. Her ego, probably as big as Caden's during this, almost as if it kept getting bigger by the second.

A light draft swept through the room, as he leaned closer to her, they were rather close now, but he didn't pay attention to it. He wanted to play along, which was more of a distraction away from the argument, to say the least. His mouth appeared open, "Oh, you're such a charmer, Anya.." His voice was husky with a light sarcastic tone before he continued, "I do drool differently than the guys." His voice lowed down towards the end of his sentence becoming softer. By now words were just spurring out of his mouth. He looked down at her, a soft smile coming onto his face. He never intended for the argument to start + go on.

Anya raised her eyebrows. "That is not something to be proud of. Drooling different is not so good. It's not at entertaining," She kept a blank face, yet there was this shimmer in her eyes. She was obviously amused. He wasn't as pleasing as his friends who would trip over themselves just for a glance from a girl. Caden was the one to make the girl trip over themself instead. Though, it was hard for him with a stubborn girl like Anya. That was mere assumptions though.

She found herself hesitating when he grew closer to her. He may not have noticed but she surely did. The way he spoke always gave chills down her spine for some reason. Anya did her best to not look him in the eye. She just decided to change the subject. "You know...you are like a puppy who just got told no," Anya couldn't help but smile at that sentence. She unconsciously reached for his hand but pulled her hand away at the last second when she noticed what she was doing. She held her hands together since they were starting to ache again. Anya's behavior was odd, or at least she found her actions odd. She did things instinctively around Caden that she has never done before. She has never cried around anyone before, nor found herself blushing. What was it? "You get reprimanded then act hurt. You become upset with yourself. Then you start sucking up once you find an opening to do so," She couldn't help but laugh. She slipped a smile, an actual genuine smile. A sigh escaped her and so did the smile.

If her boss saw her...she would be greatly punished. She had turned weak, into this giddy girl. Anya found herself pouting as well like a hurt puppy. Everything had been so emotional for her. When she looked up at Caden she seemed desperate, or at least her eyes showed that she was. Her face was still bright from that fun moment where she laughed and smiled but her eyes were different, though she wasn't sad. "I hate you," She murmured like a pouting child. There was obvious playfulness in her tone.

She knew what it was. Even with her stubbornness, she was still the one tripping over herself, leaving Caden to be amused and tease. Did she just want to impress him? Show him that she was the strong hunter she was? It only left him worried and upset at her actions, not pleased.

Caden leaned his head to the right softly, chuckling at her response. Drooling like a dog was gross, though Caden wasn't a dog, not anywhere close to a dog, so his drooling was fine in his eyes. Leaning closer to her his voice was husky but extremely soft, "Well as long as I'm not drooling horribly and grossly, then it can't be that bad - right?' He was surprised that she hadn't reacted to him yet; she usually does. Until he found she was reacting, but quietly, in a quiet manner, no eye connect. He chuckled lightly.

The sudden change in subject threw him off guard and he pulled away from her slightly. Caden rose an eyebrow, a puppy, a hurt one specifically? He has been compared to many, many, things, but a puppy, never. He kept his thoughts quiet on this one, it was better that way. His eyes moved to the side of her slightly, still thinking about the puppy wording. Looking back toward her he saw her hands drift away from him, was she reaching out for me? He shook his thoughts away, once again, deciding to say nothing of her action. Her hands seemed to be hurting her as they were both holding each other. Listening to her speak confused him. He was also pretty slow in the head appeared, but he figured out what she meant. The soft different colors of his eyes were staring at her softly as if they were giving a calming effect off, "If you need new wrapping just tell me." He said softly.

He wasn't the only pouty puppy here. Turning his head to the side, trying to hide his laugh he turned back over to Anya, a smile on his face. "Pft--I know you don't hate me as much as you think you do." He said in a cocky tone, "You obviously loove me." Exaggerating the love, talking sarcastically, he finished in a light laugh, thinking he was just so funny per usual. His eyes glistened, looking back at hers.

Soon, his attention was brought to his phone. He didn't feel like taking two steps to the rather close table so he used the most useful power he has; Telekinesis. He turned his head to the table and slowly brought the phone into mid-air, moving slowly toward Caden. It dropped into the palm of his hand and he read the text. It was from Carson saying he and Diego were coming over and we're only 5 minutes away, wanting to take him out for brunch, not knowing that Anya had returned and was with him. He looked up at her smirking, playfully. "Any idea what the guys would do if they saw you here?" He paused, leaning closer to her, "Think they would freak?" A devil in disguise he was, his smirk giving a hint of a possible surprise for the boys.

"I do," She said, looking at him. Her eyes sparkled, but her returning to her normal self, she hadn't fully interpreted what he said. Her face then turned red. She didn't mean the love part! She waved her hands to dismiss what she said. "You know what I meant. It was about hating you. I do hate you." She scoffed at the end. "Who could ever love you? You didn't have a girlfriend the whole time I was gone. You just say that to fill your puny ego," She huffed. She turned her head away, stubbornly, her hair lashing angrily in the air. Now she was back to her normal self.

What was love exactly? She felt her heart sink. She didn't even know what love was. Anya wasn't supposed to feel things, or at least that was what she was taught. It was part of hunter training, but Caden had helped break that horrible numbness spell. Now she was finally learning how to feel. "Caden," Her voice had fallen silent like she had something important to talk about. "What is...lo--" Her voice was laced with curiosity but she fell silent when he turned his attention towards his phone. It was probably best that he did so. She was going to ask what love was. What would have happened if she had finished that sentence? What would he say? Though she still found herself curious, wanting to know the answer.

Was love a kiss? Was it when two people were friends? Was it more? She knew the concept of love but she never truly understood what it felt like.

She decided not to repeat that sentence. "Nevermind," She murmured, but his voice alerted her away from her overbearing feelings. "Your friends are coming?" She asked tilting her head. Caden didn't even have to answer that question. She knew right away by his devilish smirk. They were definitely coming. She paused for a second. "I assume they will be excited," She seemed more nervous than usual.

What was Anya going to do about her hands? They are sure to ask questions. She decided to hide her hands behind her back.

Caden let out a chuckle to Anya's response. The fact she corrected herself when he well knew what she meant was amusing to him. His chuckle softened out and a soft smile appeared on his face, watching her face turn rose red and her eyes glisten. His smile faded as she contined on, turing into a devil's smirk. The little fiesty, and stubborn Anya was back. "Tch--and what if I didn't want a girlfriend? Besdies holding a supernatural power in this town with many hunters is certainly enough for me not to want a girlfriend." He cocked his head towards hers, which was stubbernly faced away, "Plus, Anya, Why would it matter to you?" Caden finished, his voice was soft, still with a husky hint to it as his sentance ended. Despite only being in a few serious realtionships -- many people had a hate and love towards Caden, he never knew why, but then again, he didn't care either it was there problem not his.

Caden tosed his phone onto the table that it sat on originally before turning away from Anya. He stopped as he heard her voice break the silence lightly. Thinking about asking her what she was saying she replied for him. Must've not been to important he thought. He nodded to her answer, his smirk disapearing as the front door swung open. Caden could have sworn he locked it.

"Morning Sunshine!!" Diego said rather loudlym causing Caden to throw the water bottle at his head, "Haven't I told you to not be so damn loud in here?" Caden said sternly but in a playful manner. The water bottle hit the floor making the left over water in it swish around once hitting the ground. Carson walked in, lightly pushing Diego to the side as he stepped inside. Both the boys froze, coming to relization that Anya was in Caden's kitchen. Both Carson and Diego looked at Anya, Diego breaking the silence from the three of them, "It's rude to run off and not tell anyone." Diego said in a blunt manner. He turned to Caden who shrugged and began walking over to the fridge, watching Anya shift her hands behind her back.

Carson threw his hands in the air and smiled, "Diego shut up -- Welcome back, Anya, you were very much missed!!" The boy said happily, smiling widely. Caden laughed, before turning back around and leaning against the frige, "Only you have that affect on these two." Caden said softly almost in a low whisper. As the boys wandered off into the living room Caden turned to Anya, "If you want those re-wrapped just let me know, the kit is in the bathroom." He said softly before turning his attention back to Carson who was now back in the kitchen going through Cadens almost empty pantry.

Anya smiled nervously. "I'm so sorry. I truly didn't want to leave my favorite boys. It was a family emergency. You....you don't blame me, do you?" It was that facade she always played around his friends, the helpless girl. Her voice was pathetic yet lustful at the same time. "I just came to Caden's to see where you guys were. I wish I knew where your houses were. It would be fun if we could hang out alone sometime," She tilted her head cutely. A light blush glistened on her cheeks. It was truly hard to tell whether she meant it or not with that blush. There was no harm in teasing his friends. She just wanted to have her fun. it wasn't like she had a plan to get rid of them.

Her eyes widened slightly when she heard Caden. For some reason, his voice startled her, like she forgot he was there. She turned her attention towards him. "Could you?" She asked, her voice more tender than usual. It would help if they didn’t see her hands. She knew for sure that she was going to rip off the bandaging once again after his friends had left. In the meantime, she would just have to deal with her hands being wrapped.

When she was alone with Caden she kept her head down. “Thank you,” She murmured like a pouting child as he wrapped her hands. “I do want to talk with you...” She finally looked up at him, but the silence between them only went on for a few seconds. “...alone. Maybe after they leave. It isn’t anything stupid or pathetic. I am just curious about something,” She knew now wasn’t the time to ask him the question. She tried to ask him once before but maybe if she had his undivided attention when they were alone could she fully ask him.

When her hands were wrapped she was able to move more freely, not having to hide her hands behind her back. She found herself approaching both Carson and Diego. She gave them both a single kiss on the cheek. She laughed softly, though she glanced back at Caden afterward. It was almost like she wanted to catch him jealous. “You know what sounds fun,” She sounded like a little kid. She glanced at all of them, her eyes glistening. “That we go shopping. We can pick up some food as well.” She hesitated and fell silent. “That is unless you don’t want to go with me,” Anya was playing that card. The one where she had them wrapped around her finger with a single sentence. “I just thought I could maybe...get all of your opinions on the outfits. You know...short dresses and stuff,” She knew they wouldn’t deny her.

Anya bit her lip in annoyance when she saw Caden practically making fun of her. He was having his own fun as well. She should have known. She wasn’t as surprised as she thought she would be with how fast they scrambled for the car. When they left she gave an amused smile. “They are actually adorable,” A soft giggle left her throat. She crossed her arms, shooting a sweet glare at him when he spoke. She gritted her teeth. “Princess…..” She repeated, letting it sink in that he called her that. She abruptly turned towards him. “You are getting off on this aren’t you! I can tell by the look in your eye.” She sounded more surprised than anything. Oh did it annoy her when he gave her that look. Yet it made her heart flutter. “I think I figured you out,” She pointed a selfish finger towards him. “You say things like that to cover up the fact that you are just as excited as your friends,” It sounded like her ego was big but she was really just teasing him. She looked so sure of herself, a cocky side emerging from her.

Anya found herself laughing softly. “You are adorable too. You are different from your friends yet you are so similar at the same time,” She let another laugh escape her. Without another word, she headed for the door.

The town wasn’t as busy as she predicted it to be. Anya shuffled through the clothes when they arrived. “I can tell you aren’t having a good time,” She murmured to Caden. She made no eye contact with him. “Yet, you keep that cocky look on your face like you are. Must be amused by the princess’s charm?” She teased, finally looking at him. Her hand trembled for a minute as she pulled out a dress. She wasn’t keen on wearing dresses but it was worth a try. She gripped her hand with her other hand to stop it from trembling. She laughed nervously and decided to change the subject.

After a few long moments of searching and choosing, she tried on the dresses. As she emerged from changing, it was a whole different appearance for her. She was the type of girl you wouldn’t expect to wear a dress. Her body fit the dresses perfectly, her curves revealing themselves more without the clothes she originally had on. Yet there was something off. She had visual bruises along her back and a couple of decent scrapes on her legs and arms. That didn’t include her hands. Anya was way more beat up than she let on to Caden. She never told him the extent of her pain. She didn’t think too much of it until she looked at herself in the mirror. To lighten the moment for herself, she turned towards the guys. She laughed softly, “I look horrible don’t I?” It sounded sarcastic but there was something in her voice that sounded like she was serious.

She made sure to make no eye contact with Caden out of nervousness. Anya just wondered when one of them would ask what happened to her. How would Caden react to finding out that she was beaten up this badly? He was already protective enough of her. Would he pull her aside and reprimand her for not telling him or will he wait later? She was sure she would hear a sharp word from him or at least a concerned one.

“Maybe we should get something to eat,” She said, after changing back into her regular clothes. She bought the dresses that worked for her and some other clothes.

Anya sighed. She saw this coming but she didn’t think he would ask her right away. She was having such a good time, especially with those goofy boys who were head over heels for her. Now she had to face the fact that Caden was worried about her and that she was hurt. “It isn’t pertinent.” She said, about to turn away from him but his glare sent chills through her body. It was very rare for Caden to get serious with her. Like a child, she hesitated but finally confessed, though her tone wasn’t as submissive as before. “Caden...I…” She spoke. She seemed pissed but it was obvious she was trying to calm herself down. The last thing she wanted to do was make a scene. How would she explain it to him? She knew she would only get resistance no matter what she said.

“My missions are hard. You should understand that. I kill your kind. Just because I hesitated killing you doesn’t mean I hesitate when killing other supernaturals. No one has my back on those missions. My point is I get hurt. There is no need to give you an exact story on what happened,” Her voice was a mere harsh whisper. Yet, there was something else that she wasn’t saying. That wasn’t the point though.

She followed after him, heading for the car but she soon came to the point of irritation that she had to do something other than speak. She stopped in her tracks in a stubborn manner. It was obvious she was attempting to make a point, a way to seek attention. She huffed. “Are you even listening to me, Caden?” Anya’s voice was laced with anger but there was desperation there too. She wanted something out of him that wasn’t resistance. She grabbed the bags in his hand, forcing her to get over the shocking pain in her own hands in order to force him to stop walking. She didn’t fully take the bags from him but rather held them so he wouldn’t walk anymore. Anya knew he was listening but was he truly giving her a chance to explain? “I want you to stop worrying about me. I want you to stop marking your daily remarks. I want you to stop looking at me with those eyes. I want you to just stop. Just listen.” Her eyes locked with his, though there was a sparkle there like her eyes were going to well up with tears. After a long moment of silence, she spoke in a very quiet voice.

“You should understand that I can’t tell you everything,” She looked away from him. Her voice was now coming to a state of calmness and almost regret for even raising her voice to Caden. “I will tell you when the time is ready,” She finally whispered.

When it was time to eat, Anya sat down next to Caden when Carson and Diego found a fun little restaurant. It was odd because she would always sit next to one of the boys but this time she decided differently. She seemed dazed until she saw the smiles on Carson’s and Diego’s faces She laughed softly. “You smile yet I see that hungry twinkle in your eyes. Eat as much as you want. I’m sure Caden will pay,” She shot a goofy glare to Caden. Now she was back to the teasing phase. She was attempting to get over the fact that she got irritated with Caden just a moment ago. She found herself only ordering a drink. She swayed the glass, swirling the content inside. She couldn’t remember the last time she had eaten a good meal, yet she didn’t want to eat.
