12:26:05 -HEE Click- Thoughts on this |
12:24:15 My dog was taught to pick stuff off the floor like keys. I put a bobble keychain on it so she could easily pick them up. She also would bring the mail from the mailbox into the house. She loved the small jobs. When she was younger, she could also spend two hours running in the dog park or the backyard.
It made her feel useful, it made her calmer in the house, and easier in public. She loved meeting new people, especially kids, and she was a BIG dog, so she was taught she had to lay down to meet someone new, and then she would present her belly for rubs (one of her absolute favorite things). It made her think and respond accordingly to people.
She wasn't the most mannered dog - still would bark at the door and if she knew the person would jump on them and lick their ears.
Not all dogs are perfect but |
12:19:23 Sorry for the whole rambling rant - training and behavior are a HUGE passion for me.
There are great clicker training podcasts. My favorite is Equine Clicker 101, as it gives a step by step guide to the session and also what to do for troubleshooting situations.
There's a few people who are on the Video Social Media who give training tips and ideas for keeping an energetic dog. Like small things you can do is make meal time interesting and a challenge - scattering kibble in a towel and rolling it up, or in a ball, or a frozen peanut butter Kong. Anything that makes them take longer to eat and have to use their brain.
Something mentally challenging is almost as energy depleting as something physically challenging.
Having a job can also promote self confidence in a dog. Something simple like bringing you the re |
12:13:47 Oriyana Strut you want mares strong in M and I. St wouldnÂ’t hurt either |
12:11:19 Training a service dog was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had. She loved having a job - from being a mobility guide, anxiety helper, and even household chores like putting dishes in the sink, garbage and recycling, and putting laundry in the basket.
Training is one of those things that is always happening - every time you interact with anyone, you are teaching them how to interact with you. If you let a horse or dog take up your space, they will then you think that that's an okay behavior. Sometimes sessions are about fun things like crawl and roll over, sometimes it's experiencing a new environment and relaxing, and other times it's going back to basics. Have fun - do dog things Work on manners - in th house Work on tasks You can't demand perfection all the time, they should be allowed to be an animal, but make it interesting and fun to do different things all the time. Even if it's something small. |
12:01:05 Kitty The only thing my dog retained in training, is good girl spot and finish, means pee and poo. hahaha other things because of being a Chihuahua mix and selective do and hearing |
11:59:49 Strut -HEE Click-
like what am i supposed to look for |
11:59:32 Strut ok i have a question.
to get a better rating what should i breed this guy to?? |
11:50:49 Sway Yep I trained my dogs myself🙂 not much to say with Minga lol cause she tries to murk people and ity her jumps sometimes, but my rescue Shiya and my dog Ive had since I was 10(LiLi) I both trained. LiLi and I did 4H dog club, and got BIS at the show:) |
11:45:51 Hummer @Lucky, I just need to find the time and energy! 😉 |
11:35:10 Stitch Going new places can also be a good workout. We take our pit mix out to new hiking areas whenever we can and all of the new things really help to wear him down. |
11:34:47 lucky I bet you could teach him yourself as long as they have decent drive its pretty easy to teach dogs to do a job |
11:28:55 Hummer Yeah, I should probably look into teaching him some more things. We used to go to dog-friendly stores to train and I still take him to them, but he is familiar with it. |
11:26:56 Sun/Sunny -HEE Click- What a pretty colt *_* |
11:26:32 Hummer The trainer we worked with offers sessions in weight pulling or similar "job like" things, but they are freakin expensive. |
11:26:30 Sway You can make jobs like teaching them to assist you with daily tasks, hiding things and getting them search for them, all sorts of things |
11:24:52 Hummer Oh, that's fun! My dog would probably be scared of the wagon or cart being behind him. XD |
11:23:47 Sway Drafting is essentially what sled dogs do, but with a tiny cart! Like horses do pulling carts or carriages. Minga loved it, and would get so excited anytime I pulled out her harness. Our little wagon broke sadly, so she has not done it in quite some time. |
11:22:11 Sway (My dog, Minga, was supposedly from the girls female blue am bully, but she later told me they rescued the litter from a bush before their eyes were open🤨 |

Amber woke up with a not to pleased look on her face "nooooooo NYMERIA! She winked and laughed at her own joke.

Sage, male, dragon freer Sage grunted from where he was laying on the floor. Without removing his forearm from over his eyes, he used his left hand to grab food and shove it into his mouth. "We can do that when I decide to get my ass up off the floor," he mumbled sleepily. "It's too early for life."

Amber, female, dragon tamer sorry sage it doesn't happen like that she grabbed Sage up on the floor and gave him to Fire Storm. She picked up meat, put it in Amber's mouth and picked her up and now our outing can begin

Riv and Gang || Female || 17 & ¾ || Dragon Freer || M: None ‘The town is just up ahead. Should be there in about.. Five minutes. Likely less.’ A groan sounds after the given news - soon followed by a yelp as the dull stinger desperately clings onto the polar dragon’s fur. Permafrost surges forward - paws thundering against the leaf riddled ground. Her saber-like fangs glistened whenever the sun hit them through the canopy. Serval giggles from the she-dragon’s back, safely tucked between her human’s arms as Riv clutches parts of Perma’s fur. Something catches the young girl’s eye, and she taps on the polar dragon's shoulder. Knowing the signal, Permafrost slows to a stop. Scorpion climbs further up the white dragon’s back, stopping only when next to Riv. “A-are… We there… Yet?” He says with a quivering tone, taking deep breaths. “Yes. We just arrived at the town’s outskirts.” Serval chuckles, patting her brother’s crest to the best of her ability. They all hop off the polar’s back, and begin to prepare for their trip. Tension quickly fills the air at an apprehensive look in Rivulet’s eyes. ‘You don’t have to do this, you know. We can always hunt.’ Permafrost signs, eying her rider with concern. The girl signs. ‘We can’t always hunt, as much as I wish we could,’ Rivulet pulls a hood over her head - one lined with thick silver-gray and black fur, ‘Besides, we need to figure out where the next camp of captured dragons is.’ The wintery dragon signs before nudging her rider forward, urging her to lead the group into town. The black haired girl takes the initiative and slowly walks forward. Her companions follow at a similar pace, the entire group on edge. “I swear, if something bad happens-” “Scorpion!!!”

Eli's coming to where Riv is so you won't be roleplaying alone :D )) Elijah Phoenix | Male | Dragon-Tamer ~ Zai had started to fly on her own, Atayi speaking to her to make sure she didn't run into anything or get lost. Eli twisted his body around and rummaged through his backpack, looking for something to eat. Finding nothing, he took out an old-looking canteen and drank the rest of it. He closed one eye and looked on the inside of it. "Well, girls, looks like we're stopping again. Atayi, land at the nearest little village you see. While I'm refilling my canteen and buying something to eat, you and Zai can go fishing or something." Zai depended heavily on Eli and Atayi, since she was blind. She could still fish decently, although Atayi had to position her so all she needed to do was dive and grab the fish out of the water.
