I can't stand professors who are complete idiots River ://

I end up trying to sneak snacks in the minutes I have between class - sometimes it's not successful lol

I finally got pics of my baby snakes, anyone want to see??

I literally dont even have time to eat on those days. Unless my professor lets us out early before lab. Buut that rarely happens.. last week i was like 10 min late because i *had* to go get food before i passed out. He was not happy. Had to eat in lab too..

I stupidly skipped out on my math class a lot towards the end. I was usually asleep in my car. However I was a two and a half hour drive away from my college, so I got up super early to try and beat traffic. Not to mention, all the Professor did was yell at us and make us feel like we were stupid. He wanted us to use his notes, but we could barely read his notes, so we would pull them up on our phones or laptop and get yelled at for being on our laptop/phone

What program do you use?
No matter, you should be able to select a part of the horse (usually with a lasso tool) and change the saturation and brightness to make it white

I had a break like that freshman fall semester... and I ended up skipping out on the 3:30 class a lottt lol. But I mean, why would I sit there and listen to a professor who could barely speak English trying to teach advanced math?? You had to struggle to understand what he was saying and the concepts.

Terrible horrible no good very bad week. August 4, 2019 11:10 AM

This past week has been rough.

Last Sunday (7/28), Roman was off at the canter. Thought he was just being a pissant because I hadn't rode him in a week so I lunged him, he got a bunch of crazies out, back into the arena, asked for canter, we seemed to be OK.

Mon/Tues. were whatever - busy days with work.

Weds. I go out to the barn in the evening and there is trash all over Roman's stall - WTF. Come to find out it all was coming from his hay bale. Through a fit with the company, they refused to come get it to exchange it and it was too much of a hassle for me to return it so I basically said fuck you and your business, tossed the bale and left a shitty Yelp review. I'll take my business elsewhere.

So that evening after dealing with hay issue, I pull Roman out to ride and some kid on the property lost the key to the tack room. >.> They hadn't replaced it. All my stuff is in there so I lunged him in the round pen, seemed fine. Went to ride (bareback and his halter). Fine at walk, fine at trot, off asking to go into canter. He started doing this weird... fast trot where it felt like he was lobbing from side to side. Then his head started doing it, like he was compensating for something. Someone got the tackroom open and since a bunch of people were there, I tacked him up to see if anyone saw anything. I should have had someone take a video, but at the canter he was obviously in pain. It felt too weird to describe. Everyone thought maybe stifle or hip? We don't think it is his back. So I hopped off and put him away.

Thurs. lunged Ro, don't see any visible lameness. Ugh.

Fri. 8/2 I go out and it looks like he's got some swelling in his fetlock, but super hard to tell because he just has weird legs in general. There was no one else out to get a second opinion so I just cold hosed it for 20 minutes and put him away.

That evening, our washing machine broke. >.> Water everywhere. Whatever.

Sat. 8/3 I have a hair appointment, started my day OK. Decide to swing by the barn after to give Ro a bath and check out his fetlock. Turned him out in the big arena to let him roll first figuring since he was off he'd take it easy, nope. Takes off like a bat outta hell bucking, kicking, whatever. Bring him back in, notice his front heel is gushing blood. Hose it off, he split it pretty good overreaching. So I'm sitting there trying to figure out how to handle it and they decide to irrigate. So now I have to figure out where I'm going to put him because for a day or two, there's about 2-3 feet of standing water and... I can't have his cut just sitting in it. I basically broke down crying. Eventually I calmed down, wrapped it like I would an abscess to keep it clean, got the OK to put him in a different dry paddock for a few days and went home.

Then while working on dinner, I somehow managed to slice my pinky finger knuckle open on a can lid. Cue breakdown - again.

Having my coffee this morning and trying to keep it together. Going to go to the barn and check on his wound/rewrap. Terribly worried about this lameness issue - trying to give it a week or two to see if it resolves (maybe he bumped it, rolled/laid on it wrong, etc.) because I know it is going to be one hell of an expense if we have it looked at. I tried lunging him at the W/T/C and he is not VISIBLY lame until I'm on him, although a little reluctant to canter. But I know it is most likely not saddle or bridle/teeth issue because he was doing it bareback in a halter.

Anyways sorry for blabbing. Needed to just get it out.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Abs! I hope everything is resolved soon and that your boy will be alright!
I'm not sure what you are dressing the wound with, but my tip is to use apple cider vinegar every other day. It works miracles.

Also, I'm fairly certain that whoever coined the phrase "Healthy as a horse" has never met a horse in real life.

This is 100% accurate LOL.

*group hug* Thanks everyone. I'm feeling better today, trying to think of Monday as a fresh start instead of the dreaded start to the work week lol.

Aww, it's always the worst when your horse gets injured. Especially when you're having a bad day.

I hope your boy heals up quick! Sorry you had a shitty week, Abs, but hopefully next week will be a fresh start. Stay positive :)

If only we lived closer together then you could put him here. Desert always stays dry hahaha, but in all seriousness it's horrible when your kiddos get hurt and it's always worse when you aren't sure what's going on. You are one hell of an amazing horse mama! I'm sure this week will be better and you can always message me, you have my social medias. You are the best Abs and I have my fingers crossed for Ro!
