In the past couple months I've been picking up really odd habits like hitting my leg really hard without even thinking, smacking desks, flicking my fingers in a wierd way (It's like trying to snap with my pinky), and overall being really fidgity. I've never really been one to sit still but this is a little over the top. It's frustrating and sometimes painful but it just happens involuntarily. I've done some research and went to the doctor but found nothing. If anybody has any ideas on what it is and how I can stop it feel free to share.

Try exercise?? It could just be pent up energy. I know I get more fidgety and smacky when I've sat around for too long XD

Nope nope nope. Please go back to a doctor and push them more, I think it's disgraceful that they didn't help you further. Especially if this is something you can't control. This is self harming and I really advise you get help from a mental health professional ASAP. This is the kind of thing you dont want getting worse. Edited at June 6, 2021 01:26 AM by Mediterranean

Sounds like a lot of anxiety, possibly developing OCD. I'd definitely talk to another doctor. Hope it gets better. ♡

Just thought I'd make a little update incase anyone was interested. I took your advice and spoke with my doctor. I was diagnosed with anxiety and minor tourettes. Thank you, I never would have had the courage to continue seeking help! <3
