I always have this HUGE pet peeve of mine....I'll be scrolling through my Instagram page and see a shiny cremello horse of literally any breed and all the comment section is filled with is either saying its abuse because the horse was painted to be shiny or saying it is an Akhal Teke and let me tell ya......I want to slap people. Genuinely it doesn't matter what breed the horse is everyone thinks that any cremello is an akhal teke or any shiny buckskin is an akhal teke and it makes me want to rip my hair out........Example: *Finds photo of cremello QH stud* Goes to the comments to see what the horses name is(sometimes people say it in the comments) Finds everyone saying this: Gorgeous akhal teke😍😍 Akhal teke!😚💓 Akhal teke cross😯 It makes me loose my marblesssssss they don't even look the sameeeeee how does a quarter horse or an andalusian even look like an akhal teke to someone D: Its gotten so out of hand that I replied to someone saying its not an akhal teke and they said they they're the only breed that can be that color and I facepalmed so hard I think I got a black eye The horse in the photo im talking about was this one Note that the post i saw didn't have this explanation but still this is not an akhal teke this is an andalusian!!!! Notice the thick neck and the long thick mane and even the head shape is not what an akhal teke looks like and I'm so frustrated about this that I had to write this post Edit: I forgot to mention this horse is CLEARLY photoshopped in order to look shinier://// Edited at July 22, 2021 02:12 AM by Wings Of Glory

1. Gorgeous andy 2. I freaking agree! Heck, I was scrolling through my YouTube feed and someone commented on a top 10 beautiful horses video that a black fresian who just happened to be shiny (yes, it had the feathers on the hooves and was clearly fresian), said that it was Akal-Teke because how can any other horse be so shiny. Like, wow.

Actually, not an andalusian. That's a quarter horse :D But agree, the akhal teke craze is weird

Man, I'm gonna be totally honest, equestrian social media is so insufferable. So many unwanted opinions and so much misinformation. I only follow pros these days.

It drives me bonkers when I see someone claiming a horse is an Akhal Teke. I've seen a lot of beautiful horses with shiney shimmering coats.

I feel this on a personal level. My TWH is cremello...but I have to say I've never gotten her shiny enough to be considered a Teke LOL Added snoot for cuteness

YES! or any breed steryotypes really. Like any black horse with feathered feet is a fressian or any wild horse is a Mustang. Edited at July 30, 2021 09:36 PM by Kiwi Mountains

My gosh this drives me absolutley insane as well! I've seen this post on my Instagram and was quite frustrated because its 100% not a Akhal Teke. Similarly, Akhal Teke's can be colors other than cremello. they are just know for being "shiny" and cremello is associated with them. But you wont look at a bay Akhal Teke and say "yep thats a thoroughbred" ... just no. And then you go in and say "well actually guys this is not what you think it is" and then recieve hate for educating people -_-
