To be fair, 70% or something of our crops are fed to cows in factory farms.

All my BABLB are WC. I'm super surprised. :D

True. The meat and egg industry (dairy is the same as the meat industry due to the whole process) is so messed up, whereas local is way better.

If you want to grow enough crops to sustain you for a lifetime you need a lot of land. Now imagine if everyone in the world did it.

Well, you don't exactly have to have milk. It's not really an essential. On the other hand, you could try getting it from some local farms :)

Yes,Local Is much more sustainable! But it's alot for farmers to do - To stay with demand and keep emissions low.Its still got a long way to go till a solution is found really. ^.^

@Graceful It was an example. You can grow some that you aren't allergic to, that's an idea. Or, if you get them from the store, get the loose stuff and bring your own cloth bag.

Eve, I really like the kind of explanations on the bottom of the Horse of the Year LB. I think that would be super helpful on all of them. :D

No, but we can get our meat and others from local farms that do it themselves, instead of ones from factory farms that cause a ton of pollution.

Wow, I just had the best fair ever. I show rabbits and goats, and I've worked for about 8 years on breeding rabbits.
This fair, I won 2/3 shows (BOB) with my homebred lynx Mini Rex. That made me sooo proud because they're ARBA sanctioned shows so she got some legs! For those who don't know, Lynx is a very rare, very difficult color to breed that most judges don't know how to judge. Her winning against some of the top breeders in the country has given me indescribable joy!

Also, I placed in 4/5 youth contests, and won 3rd Overall Supreme Exhibitor, right behind two of the most accomplished competitors in the country.

And, to top it off, I won about $1200 in 5 days. :D
