My lifelong dream has finally some true! Today I adopted my first Mustang!
Alejandro (Al) is a 4 yr old, 14hh Bay Mustang also known as Tag #1831. He was gathered at Antelope Valley, NV in September of 2018 and 3 months ago was adopted for the Texas TIP Challenge.
I met Alejandro today at the TIP Challenge and my family and I fell in love. He is TIPed which means he is halter broke, loads and unloads out of the trailer and can have his feet done. Being a competitive mustang for this challenge he has had a lot more work done than a typical non competitive TIP Mustang. His trainer has also saddled him, line driven him and ridden him bareback once. So no, he isn't wild haha.
We went to the challenge to pick up another mustang (my moms) from one of the other competitors who hauled him there for us to pick up and had no intentions of adopting another lol. But, Alejandro is very cute, very quiet and everyone there spoke incredibly highly of him. It couldn't have been more perfect.
Both of the mustangs are from Antelope Valley, NV and more than likely are related in some way which is pretty cool!
I am just overall so so so excited to bring him home after his freestyle round tomorrow (9/6) and can't wait to be able to live out my life goal with him. I myself plan to train mustangs from wild to mild in the near future and rehome them. But, Al will be staying with me for the long run :D

I won't say the name of the trainer as it's not my place to do so :)
We watched their freestyle this morning and he was sooooo good! Not sure what he placed in that but he got a 5th, 6th and a 7th in the other classes.

We are nearly home with him now :D

Congrats! He is a darling! He looks exactly like a mustang someone at my barn has adopted out of Nevada

Played with him a little sorta messing with his trick buttons such as bowing and side passing (all in hand). I was even sneaky and jumped up on him bareback for a little sit 🙈
