A few days ago, we had a new arrival here. My oldish pony mare, a stout 20 year old that hasn't worked a day in her life, had a beautiful Smokey Black paint filly. This foal is the third Lilly has had by Saturn. The first foal was buckskin paint and the second was palomino paint, so since Saturn is cremello, Lilly has had one of every color she could have with him. We're going to be keeping this foal and training her. The older full sisters were bought by the same person. They got the buckskin as a started 2 years old and came back a year later to buy the palomino because they liked the first filly so much. This newborn is so cool colored and is already pretty sweet. They get to leave the barn in a few days after the bad weather passes. This is the third and final foal we planned on having this year, so unless we buy something, this should be the last one. This filly is all leg, but her legs are very nice and straight. She was born with thicc cheeks and she's only going to get thicker with the halter breeding on her top side.
.
The next day, we had a 100lbs ewe deliver a 12.4 single ram lamb. The baby is freaking huge. He and his mom are in a stall in our other barn and get to join the herd when it dries up a bit. The lamb is bright and perky and the mom is being an excellent mother. She's very unhappy about being stalled, but she only has to be there for a couple more days to be sure the lamb is ok after the hard birth he had.

Entei's hair is growing back in on his face since its been a month since he was clipped, so I'm considering bathing him next week and fixing him up so he looks nice and fresh again. He and Fiasco have been eating very well. Theyre loving the alfalfa. They have a weird night time ritual to go in the barn. I have to walk behind them one at a time, a hand on Entei's tail and just following Fiasco, and they slowly make their way into the barn. I usually follow Fiasco first, close the stall door, and push Entei in. He always steps just past the door, so I have to step up next his shoulder and put a hand on the front of his neck and ask him to back up. He'll take a couple steps back and wait for me to open the stall, then run under my arm to get in. He's a greedy food hog, so he wants to be in as fast as possible. It's been raining here and he likes to lay in the mud when he's out during the day, so needs a bath in the worst way.
