Since I can't do training updates, here's some random farm updates! The girls have been trying out a new supplement (Dumor Senior Combo). I LOVE it! I can't tell if they like the flavor or not, but they definitely don't mind it. Before they were on MSM powder and Opti-Zyme and, while they did well, their joints still popped and it didn't really do anything for Dixie when the temperature dropped. With this new powder, she is zooming around at hyper speed and neither of them are giving a single joint pop! They're digesting habits have stayed great, and I am super excited to see if the hoof stuff takes action for Dixie's platypus feet! Terry has a new western tack set! My dad wants to start doing trails with me, and my little English saddle definitely didn't fit him, so we got him his own. We got a really nice set of a bridle, breast collar, saddle pad, and saddle for really cheap and I love it! Totally stealing it from him lol. Now we just need to go to the local Co-Op for a cinch and bit. I'll include a (crappy) picture at the bottom of the post.
Can you believe that Rosco will be a yearling in March?! I've known this guy since he was a tiny two month old orphan and now he's almost as tall as me! *happy tears* . In other news, he's doing some funky stuff with his coat! For a while he was getting a ton of grey hairs and I thought he was greying. Then he stopped getting lighter and his body turned chestnut. The middle of his tail turned a glossy black (so did all of his roots), some chestnut came alongside, and the rest is a curly blond... This guy is keeping me on my toes! I'll have to get a picture soon.
Arena update: our neighbor has dirt/sand we can use for leveling! Work on the land will start when the weather isn't so wet. Yay!! Bad pic, but here's the new tack.

Another random update. We got some more hay and grain yesterday. Only got five bales, so we'll have to do a larger round this weekend. Hopefully the rain will hold off! Farrier will be coming on the ninth for some trims. I'm thinking Rosco will need one, so let's hope that goes well. He was always good for the rescue's farrier, and my guy is much better at handling than her, so I think baby will do alright. It's a bit windy out, but the rain has stopped. I might be able to pull off a quick ride up the road! Terry has a TON of built up energy, so I think she'd like to have a good run.

So, we didn't go for that ride because Terry pulled her left shoe *face palm* . At least she waited until the farrier was about to come! Today we aren't going to reshoe her. Just going to take off her old shoe and trim her down. When even the slightest bit of snow or ice hits, Terry basically gets boulders of compact ice lodged in her shoed feet. I hate to have her all wobbly, uneven, and practically ice skating, so we're going to go barefoot, since she isn't in work and won't be until the winter weather leaves. Shoes are off and Terry is all trimmed up. Turns out none of the other horses needed their toes done this time around. . Equine birthday gifts!! That's right, yesterday was my birthday. Two presents came, two more on the way. I got new breeches, an engraved nameplate padded leather halter, and a rain sheet with a space for a saddle ('cause WA rain is never ending). I'm not sure what the last gift is or if it's even horse related. I also got some cash, so I'm going to go stalking Smartpak for things I want lol . Lastly, this isn't horse related, but I think we can all appreciate a cute doggo... Gunther is loving his first snow <3

Dixie switched to her unopened blanket the other day. We've had it since last winter/spring, but I never opened it since she was wearing the other one. It's crazy how different the "new" and used blankets look beside each other! Terry, Dixe, and Tiny got dewormer with their morning grain today. I didn't give Rosco any because he had a round on August 31st, so he doesn't really need more yet. Will likely give him his near the end of this month / early February.
All of the animals are enjoying playing in the snow. Depending on where you stand, we already have between 5 inches and a foot of snow, and we're supposed to get another 6 inches by morning. They're going to be having lots of fun! That is, except Tiny... He'll be half way buried lol

This is a really good Idea do you mind if I do something simillar? Something that I can log my progress with my yearling if not it is okay but I love this idea and your horses are so cute!
