No riding yet today, just been a lazy day for everyone lol. We did have the horseshoer out to fix Baloo's shoe which he decided to pull off... of course lol Edited at May 15, 2020 06:28 PM by Veterna Springs

Not sure if anyone really cares, but I figured I might as well share what Baloo eats. 1 1/2 buckets of alfalfa cubes 2 BIG scoops of Total Equine grain 1 BIG scoop of oats Occasionally I alternate the proportions to 2 scoops of oats and one scoop of Total Equine. Also, given the amount of food even, Baloo is the fastest eating horse I have ever met.

Racing and off-track Thoroughbreds are my absolute passion, he's beautiful! And love that lineage, every Bluegrass Cat I've worked with has been lovely. Also love that grey, my favorite living racehorse (Arrogate) is grey <3

Today was Baloo's first time competing! We went to a playday (a western event with barrels and more fun speed events) and he rocked it! We did actually end up placing in one of them, but I wasn't really being super competitive we were just going for the experience. He was nervous outside of the arena during wait times but walked into the arena like an angel and did the event really nice for his first time ever trying them. He has definite potential to be a barrel horse so that's something I will likely be doing since jumping and English showing isn't something my family and I necessarily do often. Only picture I took lol, my mom has the rest (she's the best personal photographer) Edited at May 17, 2020 10:27 PM by Veterna Springs

Awww he is so cute! I don't understand why people think that TB's shouldn't be western horses, I think, with the correct training, that they are amazing! Half of my childhood western horses were TB's or X's.
