What is drafting? I have thought about doing agility with him, but it would be hard because he gets easily scared of new things.

Gotcha. If he is of standard poodle and golden lineage, he is likely from working/hunting dog breeds, so you may need to give him a job, rather than just walkies🙂

I have a dog thats a mutt who is the same way. She was supposed to be lab x American bully, but we think I was lied to. Shes super high energy and I think inbred because she has screws loose. I started drafting with her, and it really helped her work off energy!

and goldens are also generally pretty high energy dogs.

I made the dance team for my school! I'm kinda happy but at the same time I'm not sure. Oh well.

Jumping on people is a very common trait in poodles. Something about them just wants to be eye level

*typical backyard breeder. I think it is more of a breed/temperament thing.

At the time there were lots of other doodles in our neighborhood and we thought they had great personalities so we weren't opposed to getting one. I don't blame his breeder, his breeder was a wonderful lady who really did care and wasn't your backyard breeder.

Oh sorry, golden retriever.

But what is the other breed? Golden, lab, etc?

Second generation, so 75% poodle.

What type of doodle is he?

Honestly, if he would just calm down he would make an excellent therapy dog.

@Sway, his Mom was a therapy dog so I was hoping he would have a similar temperament. He is SUPER smart and I have loved working with him, but he is high energy and jumps on people.

@Hummer
In my experience, behavioral issues are common in any type of doodle because theyÂ’re rarely bred for temperament. And, itÂ’s often breeds that arenÂ’t really compatible purpose-wise, giving you dogs that were bred for pets that have working dogs behind them and such.

@Celeste, my dog is two so only 3 more years to go until he calms down? 🥲 He is a doodle and after owning him I'm not sure I can recommend them as a "breed." 😬

Jupiter used to be like that. He was like that till he was 5. Now walkies come when I feel like it haha. And he is ok with that.

@Celeste, I wish my dog were more lazy. He gets a 45 minute walk twice a day, but still acts like a butt because he is bored at night.

That is some good luck! They have some nice color genes too. 0.0

He is the only dog I know that likes being under the blanket.
He wants under the blanket 24/7. He knows the phrase “Wanna go to bed?” He is such a lazy dog haha.

They seemed to have matched him very well! ^^ I notice his legs seem longer and more match-stick-like on the Breyer, and his neck is longer on the model as well. I love Breyers. They tend to do a gorgeous job! <3

my mother and I looking at the Verdades model:
me: he's cute.
mom: the mold is so wrong etc etc..
me: well I guess they gave him a pushed-out, standardbredy face when really his face is a bit dished...
mom: exactly!!
otherwsie I agree Breyer is great about the models

Thank you so much!
This is my 3-year-old ApHC Mare her name is Echo. She is still growing but she is bred for western and English performance and has 3 other siblings who place exceptionally well and her brother was State champion in HUS.

Very pretty little lady. She looks to have a nice head, on the smaller side. Very thin neck, but once she starts riding and building muscle that will improve. Nice shoulder, slightly upright. Slightly Camped Under in the front, but nice flat knees. Her pasterns are more upright, but have nice length. Nice shorter back, especially for a QH (Or Paint). Her topline could use some muscling, but she's young. Nice hindquarters, slightly Sickle Hocked. Again, more upright pasterns, but nice length. Her feet looks good, lacking some heel in the back.

Hmm. I can say with confidence that every horse that has been posted is, indeed, a horse.
