altighty so i am going to be resuming my tutorial/step through of my process by editing this post. Also, i recommend clicking on the images so you can really see them :) I have been working on the back legs and did a sketch on my sketch layer of how I want the tail since I finally figured that out. For the legs in general, I decided three of the legs will have white markings. I will be playing with those markings for a bit which is why I haven't put any detail in the lower part of the leg closest to the audience. Full body is done, added markings and did the ears. I have the hooves, mane, tail, and im going to edit the eye a little bit at the end since I'm not sure if I like it too much. I also took a break so I could dig a suitcase out of the veryback of a massive walk in storage closet thing... it took a long time and way more effort that I care to admit. I move next week and its just a pain. Edited at August 3, 2022 04:05 PM by Daranyx

And the horse is now done. I added the mane and tail, hooves, added eyelashes to the eye, and did a few line work touch ups to make things a little more distinguishable. I really wanted to get that arabian-y feel which i think I achieved through the mane and tail. Arabians typically have thinner looking manes and a lot of them won't have any mane starting until maybe halfway down from what I've ever seen. But it is very silky/soft looking. So that is what I tried to achieve here. The image overall isnt done. I added my signature for obvious reasons and a shadow to ground it a little so the horse isnt just floating. But I want to add a background as well and I think I figured out what it will be. I can do a live-time tutorial thing like i've done here for that as well if people are interested. I did take a few breaks today to make dinner, get a suitcase out, food, and just to keep my neck from locking up since sometimes art in a chair at my desk takes its toll. Anyways, I hope you all like it! I will be posting a poll shortly to see how much people would be willing to pay for art like this (without a background) and once I get a background done I will post a poll of pricing for horse art with the background (these would be premades with a set AB price). Thank you all! Edit: I wanted to add a photo of the horse without the background so you all can see how the lighting changes the look of the horse and so you can kind of see the importance of having a solid base to work off of. Also, the total time it has taken for me to do this pice (minus breaks) is about 12 hours. Edited at August 3, 2022 08:26 PM by Daranyx

Here is a link to a poll asking how much you'd pay for horse art premades like what is above (there would be a bunch of different poses, colors etc). Thanks everyone!

Here is a basic sketch of the background idea I have for the horse. Problem is, I'm wondering if it might be too much. The blue is a giant ribcage like structure that will have a bunch of overgrowth. on it (like hanging moss and stuff). And there are some sloped cliff like mountain thihngs that will have grass on the tops and moss on the sides and stuff. The field the horse is standing in will have yellow and blue flowers i'm thinking. The background itself will be kind of "sketchy" and not super detailed but the foreground will have the most detail. I'm thinking I might draw a few backgrounds in a sort of concept style just to place the horse in. I'm just not sure about this sketch.

Oh my god Nyx! The fact that this is all hand painted (on a tablet of sorts) just amazes me! This piece is absolutely gorgeous and you are an incredibly talented artist!

Thank you both so much <3 I am really hoping to do some more progress photos and things like that in the near future. And speaking of progress photos, I was looking at my old art compared to now and oh my gosh its insane looking at November 2019 work vs now! I am truly thankful for the HEE community for encouraging me to continue with art and the massive amount of support everyone gives

After making an entire palette and working on cuts, I made the decision to sell the piece above. I just don't think I will personally use it for very long and I dont have a horse worthy of art at the moment. I really didn't have intentions of selling the piece because I love it so much but I am sticking with my dragon in the clouds as my set for the moment. Its the piece that really got me started. The auction will end 08/13/22 at 10pm GT. You can find it Here.
