Mari smiled lightly when the boy slipped in next to her, but other than washing her hair, she didn't do much more than stare down at her stomach. She'd caught herself doing that a couple of times now... probably because it was a little bit more noticeable now that she was showing the tiniest bit. You still wouldn't look at her and think she was pregnant, but she knew she was, and she couldn't help but be excited by that fact. She was also excited for Sage... this would be a great job for him. He was already doing it, and he loved it, but now he'd be getting paid. It would be amazing. She turned the shower off shortly after the boy had left, and dried herself off with a towel before getting changed and following him up to bed.

Sage slipped into bed happily, and curled up with the girl when she joined him. He fell asleep rather quickly, though he wasn't sure why he was so tired ....nothing much had happened. Well plenty had happened, it just wasn't physical. Either way, he was glad to sleep for a bit. Although, halfway through the night, a rather bad nightmare woke him, and not wanting to wake the girl, he sort of just lay there for a bit before the memories got bad enough he padded into the bathroom to gag up what little he'd eaten before sliding down the wall to huddle in the corner, shaking.

Mari sat quietly for a little while, really just enjoying the peace and quiet… the rest, she supposed. It was all nice. Though, soon enough, she felt herself getting a little bit chilly, so turned to cuddled back into Sage… only to find that he wasn’t there. A groan of complaint escaped her, though she slowly opened her eyes to look around for him, trying to find out if he was still in the room or what, though there was just nothing. She sighed softly before looking to the bathroom, only to find the light was on. “You okay?” When there were no reply, she shook her head before wandering over to turn the light off, but there he was… Sage, curled up and shivering in the corner. Her brows furrowed slightly as a wave of panic ran though her, though, all she could do was stare at him for a moment. Soon, though, she got it together and forced herself to go and sit in-front of him. “What’s wrong,” she whispered to the boy, clearly not at all sure what to do… he’d mentioned his bad dreams before, though. “Did you have one of those dreams again?”

Sage jumped when he heard the girl's voice, admittedly scared out of his wits for a moment or so before he recognized the girl and tried for a sheepish smile, though it quickly fell. It took a moment for his brain to process what she'd said and nodded sheepishly. He sort of rocked back and forth heasitantly, wanting to crawl into her arms but also aware that he wasn't exactly in his right mind. There were still things flashing through his head, and he didn't want to frighten the girl. "You don't have to stay," he hummed quietly, though he didn't want her to leave either. "I can deal with it. I always have." She needed her rest....and he wasn't about to keep her awake bc of his own issues. He was still terrified, but he'd delt with it alone for so long, he could deal with it now. And, well, he still felt rather ashamed that he was still so messed up. Pathetic. Broken, if you will. He was supposed to be strong, and care for Mari and his child ...but he couldn't even keep himself calm. He'd sort of zoned out, lost in his own thoughts, but had started scratching at his neck absentmindedly, even when it started bleeding.

The girl couldn't help her frown forming on her face when the boy jumped, nor when he said she didn't have to stay... of course she needed to stay. He'd stayed with her while she was crying, throwing up and having a migraine... she could stay with him this time. "I can stay," she reassured him, giving a small, really very forced smile. "You can talk to me about anything, you know," she promised the boy gently before sitting with crossed legs on the floor. She couldn't help the lump in her throat when he started to scratch but didn'r reach to grab him right away, rather, she gently ran her hand up his shoulders and hooked her fingers through his and pulling them into her lap, desperately trying not to scare him.. "Please don't do that," she whispered, trying to keep her voice from breaking... he didn't need her getting upset too. "Do you want to tell me what your dream was about?" She asked gently to the boy... just trying to get him talking to her so that he wouldn't zone out as much.

Sage squeaked in surprise when the girl took his hands, but then sort of just scooted over and collapsed against the girl, curling up in her lap with a light whimper. "Just dad again," he whispered quietly, closing his eyes tightly when another memory flashed through his mind, curling up tighter as his breath sped up again. He knew he was panicking, and he should calm down ...he was already getting lightheaded from the panting, and he wanted to calm down, but he just couldn't ground himself enough. He opened his mind after a moment, and when the bathroom looked like the place in his mind, he sort of squeaked and cowered farther into the girl, yanking his hands back and pressing them to his eyes.

Mari shook her had a little when the boy curled into her, but wrapped her arms tightly around the boy anyway. He really meant the world to her... and she didn't want him feeling like this. It was just scary. She gently stroked his hair when he fell into her lap, trying to do anything to keep the boy grounded... but it just wasn't working at all. She just wanted to help him, to make all of this go away, but she couldn't do that, and she knew it well enough. His dad was gone, and she hated that he still had to deal with all of... this. She saw the slight change in him when he looked around, and all she could do was hold him tighter. She wanted to do more for him... but the best she could do was sit and make sure he didn't hurt himself anymore. "You're alright, I promise," she whispered to him as his panting got worse. "I'm right here, and I'm not going to let anyone hurt you anymore," she promised quietly.

Sage was dimly aware of the girl talking, but he couldn't really tell what she was saying. The world was blurry, and spinning...that was, except for the things he wished were blurred out. Those seemed to be perfectly clear. He knew they weren't there, weren't real, but that didn't make them any less potent. And less terrifying. It was a cycle, all of it...and he knew what was coming was the worst of it. His father killing his mother was bad enough, but more recently, when he looked down at the body, it wasn't his mother laying there, but Mari, and it was his own hands he was looking down at. And it was all so awful...he was terrified of becoming his father. And while he knew that wasn't reasonable....and it wasn't going to happen...well, it scared him all the same. And of course, seeing Mari in that position hurt more than anything else. At least Liz had died in her sleep, in his arms. He sort of whimpered again and cowerd deeper into Mari's lap, making a kind of strangled noise. "The walls are bleeding," he wheezed out. He wasn't making sense, he knew that, but the walls were bleeding. "Mari," he squeaked, repeating the phrase, bolting upright and scrambling away from.. well...the walls. The blood. He knew it wasn't real, but now it seemed to be filling the room and he couldn't see, couldn't breathe. He could dimly feel his nails leaving marks on his cheek, though there wasn't much he could do to stop it. He just hoped Mari would be able to help, even if it was just hold him down so he didn't do anything rash or stupid.

The girl held onto him a little bit tighter when she felt him shift, but couldn't help her worry when he started hallucinating. Well, who wouldn't worry? The man she loved was shaking in her arms, and telling her blood was seeping from the walls. She shook her head a little bit and just kind of whispered, "No... no, Sage, they're not... you're just hallucinating, everything is alright," she tried to convince him, though he just seemed to get worse. When he darted away from her, she couldn't stop herself from scrambling after him, especially when he saw him start to claw his face. She hated seeing him like this... just hurting himself. She couldn't stop the dreams or his hallucinating, but she could try and stop him hurting himself. She just grabbed his hands and pulled him in a little bit. "I know... the walls are bleeding," she eventually sighed to him, "but they're not bleeding over there," she hummed and she gestured to their room. "So why don't we go there?" She asked, giving his hands a bit of a squeeze.

Sage sort of blinked up at the girl when she grabbed him again, blinking up at her face when she appeared there. It took him a moment to really understand what she was saying...but then he looked over our into the bedroom cautiously. It looked safe enough...it was definitely less claustrophobic than the tiny bathroom at this point. So he sort of just nodded, sort of like a young child would after having a scare. He followed Mari out of the bathroom slowly, shuffling along, his gaze darting around fearfully before crawling into the bed and collapsing into her arms again. By then, everything was spinning so much he sort of just let himself drift off after a certain point....going in and out of it all. He spent hours like that, and had only let himself drift off completely when hed completely exhausted himself. He couldn't fight anymore. Once he'd passed out his breathing and heart rate started calming down a bit as his body tried to get back to normal, though by then it was early morning..dawn, really, as the sun started to rise, so he hadn't slept much, and he'd kept Mari up, which he felt just awful about. He didn't want her to leave...but she had to work. Maybe the queen would be alright with her leaving early or something, if she explained.
