Trying to sort out US eventing levels, with the dressage level equivalents - and then corelating that with British eventing.

green means your horse is doing well in training and is at the same level as their rider, so yes it is good :)
Red means they have levelled up before their rider and need to be switched to a rider that is the same level as them

OK, firstly you have to remember there is a thing called random factor - meaning a foal can either increase or decrease in strength from it's parents. Unfortunately, it is more often swings down than up.

Secondly, the two EEE's may not have matched very well - meaning they had the same weaknesses and strengths. It is better to have a horse that is strong in one trait (ie speed) matched with a horse that is low in it, so they 'balance' each other out.

Thirdly, they may not have been particularly strong EEE's. Each horse has a set of 'points' that we can't see that determine how strong they are. If they are closer to a P, then they are more likely to produce a P in that trait.

And sometimes, it just comes down to being unlucky. You might get all things right and one year it just doesn't work and the next year it might.
Keep trying and you'll get there! :)
