I have trust issues with wedding planners after watching my mom’s experience lol. I’ll probably end up taking ideas from a lot of people and narrowing them down

Love my in-laws don’t like how particular they are… overall they’re amazing and pretty accepting of me though thankfully! It’ll probably be smaller (50-75 people simply because both him and I have large families) so I also have to take into account any allergies since I wanted the wedding to be at my families ranch but many of them are majorly allergic to horses so that idea had to go out the window lol

We’re doing it about two and a half years from now (Going for an October wedding) so I’ll be finished with nursing school and my parents will be more accepting since they don’t want me getting married at 18 so I’m trying to take advantage of the time I have! Thank you so so much for the advice since I have no idea what I’m doing

We planned ours over a lengthy bit of time we never had a set date for the marriage to happen on. I will say though, having some close gal friends and or guy friends that are willing to help, is so very helpful!

Bisexual, but I don't identify in any way as a queer. Queer was historically used as a slur and is still used as a slur. The connotations that homosexuals are diseased or predators still reside with that word, and many of the older gays are disgusted with it's use by our own community.
It's not "reclaiming it." It was never ours to claim. It's a word that needs to die alongside the thought that gay people are somehow wrong.
If homosexuality was wrong it wouldn't exist in so many other mammilian species.

It will never make sense to me why some people feel the need to go out of their way to share unwarrented, and frankly useless opinions, especially when it comes to LGBTQ related subjects.
This poll is not a 'do you support or do you not' poll. It is a 'who is and who isn't' yet somehow so many of the comments are people sharing their opinions, that are entirely unrelated to the posted topic.

Couldn't agree more! I came here to find other LGBTQ+ players since there isn't really a dedicated community on here anymore. Years ago we had a club, but I think it's been deleted. It was honestly so disheartening to see so many people saying that they don't support us. I've never understood why it matters so much to people. Like others have said, there are countless examples of people taking about their heterosexual spouses, dates, etc in chat but when a queer person you don't even know in real life mentions it, it's suddenly innappropriate and scary?

If someone finds their person and loves them, that's beautiful. If someone can live as they truly are, that's also beautiful. LGBTQ+ people just want to exist peacefully like heterosexual and cisgender people do. Besides, for a lot of us, sharing our identity online sometimes feels safer than doing it in person. Be it on HEE or elsewhere, everyone deserves to find a community and feel safe. I think HEE is a wonderful, helpful community and we should extend that to everyone here. To any other LGBTQ+ folks (and fellow lesbians, hey!!), there's always someone to talk to here, myself included.

I 100% agree with both of you. I really wish people were more kind on the internet and in person about this. They wouldn't like us talking about their spouse or significant other like that, so why do they feel the need to do so to others?? It's very strange, and I really wish they would think about how their comments can hurt someone else before they actually decide to comment, and it's especially hurtful to see someone call it inappropriate when it really isn't.

Hello, hello. Demiromantic gay man here. I will always support the community, especially since well- I'm part of it. Even before I found out I wasn't straight, I had friends who were pansexual, asexual, and my closest friend was trans. I supported them every second of every day. Hell, I even went to Church every week as a kid, grew up with religious family members, and not once did I even try to throw religion at my LGBTQ+ friends. Why? I saw absolutely no reason to do it. They aren't hurting anyone by living their lives and being themselves. I knew that they deserved as much love and respect as everyone else, no matter what was written down in the pages of a book.

With that being said, I'm uhh- not a religious person anymore, but I will say my religious grandmother has never once used religion to belittle any queer folk. She's such a supportive and thoughful woman. She makes sure to never deadname, even if someone decides to change their name more than once. She makes sure to use the name they chose, and she makes sure to use correct pronouns. No one even taught her about any of that, by the way. She somehow just knew to do those things to make them feel accepted and comfortable at work with her. I just wanted to share that I've got literally the best grandma who would 10000% support and be anyone's grandma no matter how they identify. She'll shower you in weird trinkets from the Dollar Tree and snacks galore. Don't be surprised if she accidentally sends you 6lbs of Jolly Ranchers. She did that to me once. I still don't know how she managed it, neither does she.

i'm nonbinary and bisexual (on the aroace spec) myself. seeing people immediately jump to this thread to attack people made me so sad and angry, but i found a little bit of light in some of the posts made here in all of us just sharing the love for ourselves and being proud of who we are. it makes me feel strong and have a sense of togetherness. we deserve to have a space too.
i'm usually quiet / don't comment on things but i felt that necessary to say.
