Sage sighed. "If you're not already sick I think you'll be fine," he admitted. He didn't want to chance it but still. Mostly it was just his lungs. "I grew up in a house with a lot of smoke from dad. It gets this way sometimes," he added.

"I'm sorry, love."

Sage hummed softly. "Me too. But I don't think it's contagious...I think my lungs are just crap," he noted. It was good...getting Liz lick would make him feel terrible.

"Have you had them checked by a doctor before?"

Sage hummed and shook his head."never had the money or time," he noted softly

Amira nodded thoughtfully, thinking. She went and grabbed her computer to begin research beside Sage

Sage was content to settle down next to her once she got her computer. Talking had honestly worn him out.

She continued research for hours

Sage dozed off eventually, occasionally waking up with coughing and exhausting himself all over again

After Amira didn't find any leads whatsoever, she sighed and put the computer away. She curled up beside Sage, her arms around him, and she felt a tear roll down her face. It hurt her that she couldn't do anything to help...
