So many moons ago I used to make low quality tier 3 art to brush up on skills and play around with free online photo editors for a photography class I was taking. After spending some time as a phototgraphy major I have to get a photo editor as I can't keep submitting film photos as assignments or for clients.
However I ALSO would like to get back into making HEE art for both myself and clients. With both of these said which do you think is the better option, photoshop, or Affinity photo (AP)? I'm leaning towards affinity as I've heard a lot of amazing things about it on here but it's not the traditional "college photo major with a macbook pro" editor so I'm worried I won't have as many valuable tutorials for it as I would photoshop for both manips and digital photography touch ups.
Help and suggestions of possibly other applications would be greatly appreciated! Price does not matter to me!

As someone who's used AP for both professional photo editing & HEE manips, I highly recommend it! Once you get a baring for the program, essentially any Photoshop tutorial will translate over. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only major PS tool that is missing from Affinity is AI generative fill (which frankly, from a moral standpoint, I'm happy they don't have it).
I've never had any issues/bugs with the program and as a plus, is definitely more affordable than PS!

Edit: This is WildWillow - didn't realize I was over on my X side lol

I also personally don't see myself using generative fill as one it isn't exactly imperfection free and I can't imagine having a photo that needs so much work that I can't use my own skills for that I don't just use another photo in place. Thank you Wild! I think I may just get it!

Yeah AI is against the rules here.

Yeah that too. I also just don't see it being very useful for my photography buisness/classes either as I don't feel that it's authentic or creative even though it is allowed for those.
