Caelan was making a sketch of a dragon--one so realisti looking that it looked like it would poke it's head off the page any minute. "Good morning, my beautiful girl" He said, lifting his head and pecking her cheek. "How soon do you need to leave?" He asked softly, handing her an apple pastry |

Adele admired his work, surprised at how talented he was. "Wow, Caelan, you're really good. You must sketch a lot." She accepted the pastry and said, "Well, probably pretty soon. It takes a couple hours to ride there, and that's if I'm cantering Calvin the whole way. He ran yesterday, so I don't want to do that to him. But again, if you need me to stay, I will." She didn't want Caelan to be scared, or for him to have to face his mother again. But she did need to go home. |

"I'll ride with you to the border" He said softly. "You have a ingdom to tend to and a prince to humble." He added softly, tipping his head back slightly to rest against her. "But I can try and see you as soon as possible in your kingdom if you want?" He offered, setting the sketchbook down and standing up. He turned and kissed her forehead before walking to his nightstand and placing a couple daggers on his rib sheaths. He walked over to Adele, dagger in hand in a nice way and placed it into her hidden sheath on her leg. "Don't forget that's there or else it'll be immpossible to run comfortably, darling" He warned softly, watching her with adoration |

Adele nodded, glad he was coming with her. She felt safer that way, even with her daggers. She thanked him for the extra dagger and went into her old room to change. A few minutes later, she emerged and took the apple pastry again, beginning to eat it. Though it was cold, it still tasted incredible, like a pie, but more tart. She was disappointed when it was gone, but it had given her the strength she needed for the journey ahead. Adele grabbed her other clothes and wrapped them up securely so they wouldn't fall when Calvin was running. She followed Caelan towards the stables, holding her breath that his mother didn't show up. |

Caelan grabbed the second pastry and handed it to her on the walk to the stables. He kissed the top of her head and tacked up both horses so she could eat the pastry. "Next time you come, we need to visit Betty again. She adores you." He noted softly, placing her stuff in the saddle bags on Calvin. He mounted up onto Aurora and sighed, sad Adele had to go home. Get yourself together! Needy and immature? She won't want that. He thought, leading them out into the woods |

(We need some drama... But my mind is blank :| ) . Adele nearly refused the pastry to say that he should eat it, but the smell was too overwhelming and she couldn't not bite into it. She finished it off quickly, helping him finish tacking up the horses. She mounted Calvin, loving the feeling of the leather saddle creaking underneath her. "She adores you," she pointed out as they entered the forest a quick trot. Calvin stretched his legs, lengthening his stride in the crisp morning air. "I'm glad you have someone like Betty in your life." |

Someone captures Adele while she's coming to his kingdom next time and brings her to the dungeon of the night kingdom, not knowing Caelan is dating her and she thinks Caelan ordered her capture and he pleads for forgiveness while she's stubborn--but obvi comes around--and he losses his crap at his mother because she's the one who ordered Adele's capture?) Caelan easily kept up on Aurora, nodding in agreeance. "Like I said, she's like a real mom" He said, shrugging slightly. "But you should have seen the way her eyes lit up when she saw you. I had heard her in the past talking to herself about how she was worried nobody would want someone with my heritage--the abusive parents and mean look. She kept telling me I'd find love, but I don't think she really enitrely believed it until you showed up." |

(Oooo YES!!! That's so genius. Thank you!!) . Adele listened to Caelan's words, and she realized how hopeless Caelan must have felt in finding love himself. She was glad, once again, that she had run away from home. She couldn't think of anything to say in reply, so she simply smiled. The ride to her parents' castle was slightly chilly in the early spring air, but the horses enjoyed the scents and sights, ears alert and tails swishing. A few hours later, the spires of the castle could be seen above the tops of the trees, and Adele knew Caelan needed to leave her here. She was a little sad to have to leave him, but he needed to be strong without her. And she needed to be strong without him. Hopefully, they'd see each other again soon. In the meantime, Adele was looking forward to seeing Alban for the first time since she ran away. |

"Send word if you need me, my love" He said softly, moving closer and leaning to her to kiss her. "I love you" He added, turning and cantering away toward his castle. He left Aurora to the grooms and headed to his study to write up a speech to give to his kingdom about the changes there would be. His mother came into his study, the door slamming against the wall as she shoved it open. Caelan sighed. "Yes, mother?" He asked, already tired of this. "Where is she?!" She screeched, her voice sounding like a banshy. "She went home." Caelan said simply, shrugging. "And you let her? I wasn not done talking with her!" She exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air in exasperation. Caelan just shrugged as his mother turned and stormed off, calling a certain guard's name. |

Adele nodded. "I will. You do, too." She watched Caelan canter off for a moment, then urged Calvin into a canter of his own. About an hour later, they had reached the castle gates. Adele led Calvin to the stables and let a groom care for him, then went in search of her parents. She found them in the den, her mother reading to Alban. At the sight of her little brother, Adele's heart swelled with joy and she nearly ran to greet him. He turned and saw her coming, a smile spreading over his little face. She caught him up in a hug and nearly squashed him. . After a chatting with her parents and listening to Alban talk about school, Adele excused herself to change into, in her mother's words, more "princess-like" attire. She chose a purple gown with silver stitching, and braided her hair into a bun. She went back downstairs, and, realizing that she was hungry, headed towards the kitchens. She snagged a orange from the fruit basket and a slice of lemon bread from the bakery section. Adele headed out into the gardens, and sat on a bench near the fountain, eating her food. The sound of the water made her remember all those moments sitting with Caelan on the beach, and she let herself recall those memories, a wistfull smile playing at her lips. |
