They are great for supplies! Our LFS actually partners with them because of how much they recommend them.

I was thinking of ordering supplies from this company. I have heard good things and they have good guides.

Checkout used tanks often people will be nearly giving them away, just make sure to fill it up outside first for a few days to make sure it’s not leaking. Never take a tank with cracks even if they’re small and are current ply holding water

Or, you can typically do it cheaper by piecing it together yourself. Tank, light, cover(optional), heater, filter, air pump, airline hoses, bubble wand, substrate, and then obviously decorations (nothing plastic) and the fish.
Kangaroo Studs

I reccomend tetras as well, you want a lot 10-20 as theyre schooling fish and they have a high casualty rate especially when you first get them

You can get a 20 gallon tall kit at most pet stores for about $200 that will include just about everything except substrate, plants, and fish.

Bird, I loved my tetras, I believe I had the 2 for 4/5 years? But do be weary when you get them, I originally had 4 but unfortunately we lost 2 very shortly after due to the 'professionals' we talked with I'll informing us on the best amount for our tank!

@charm, I was hoping to keep it less than $500

Should always try our best with animals. Research is worth it

Like with anything it takes a lot of research (and it's a bit of an investment) to do things right.

Bettas are definitely able to get away with a 10. I just wouldn't go lower, they explore and swim around way more than people realize
Wings Of Glory

After 3 months of work and almost 20k down the drain my truck will finally be repaired and drivable tomorrow >_< proud of myself for not giving up

Bird, Unfortunately I never got to try a planted tank, but I've heard amazing things! I do really wish I'd had time to lol
Hummingbird Meadows

For preferably a smaller tank. Less than 20 gallons.

Other than betta fish, what are some good beginner fish?
Dash and Duchess
10:12:09 DD | ~Squizard~
Exactly what charm said! It really makes things easier, and the fish love it too!
Hummingbird Meadows

@DD, so you have had good luck with plants?
Backwood Barns
10:10:56 Charm's Wubs
I will always recommend planted. It will also help keep your tank clean and water quality higher because plants remove nitrates/nitrites from the fish waste.

So recently, we had to put down our 35 yr old goregous grullo paint gelding who was a sweetheart, which was absoulutly heart breaking.
And since all my other horses are having their separate issues... i may end up buying a colt.
Let me tell you about this guy
Hes only 4 months old, and a full bred Canadian out of an amazning stud and very chill mare, hes got a lot of spunk, and looks like he would have a KICK at eventing, hes absoulutly stunning. Now, he isnt gelding. thats the only problem i have, but, i wont geld him if i do buy him, as the canadian breed is very thin. I would love opinions on this, i know ive only given a small bit of information, but i hope it works :)

Sorry about your loss and congrats on your new boy!

But can I just offer some advice as someone who has been in the Canadian world for a few years? Canadians are thin but not as thin as you may be thinking. May I ask where you are located? You don't have to be exact but where I am Canada may be different then the southern states. If you do plan on keeping him a stud just a couple things to keep in mind is how many other breeders are in your area, are you going to keep only breed to Canadian mares, or will you breed out?

I am super excited to see another person joining the Canadian world! But I just want to offer any help I can as you enter as a stud owner as well.

I have two pure breds and one TB cross and I have not been able to register any of them, two because a small problem a few years back in the mares breeding and the TB cross can't be registered because she is a cross. So just remember that the registry is kinda sticky and all though stress about keeping the breed alive they are not very opening with their registration.

I really hope he works out for uou! And maybe post a picture or two!!??

Sorry about your horse... And he sounds like a nice colt but why not work with your current horses and resolve their issues...? Instead of getting a brand new horse? Not trying to be offensive just asking.
