Christmas cactus are pretty hardy and have really pretty flowers in winter. Only killed one when I forgot it was in the room with some 8 week old kittens who thought it was a great toy.

I have been summoned.

Aloe vera can be a good option like has been said. Snake plants are also a good option as well.

Bird- get an Aloe Vera. The love being ignored, seem to die when soaked or baked, but always come back if left alone after you think they are dead. Wonderful things! Look cool when they grow happy too.
Glacier Bay Cove

Hummer, Daylilies are pretty durable flowers, give them a try and see if you like them or not

Tee that's not good, best thing is to ice it. It will take the swelling done and elevate the foot.

Not a doctor, but getting it checked out is a great idea

I'd say put ice on it. then wrap it in something to stabilize it....You could put heat on it but if i remember correctly heat doesn't slow swelling down but helps with pain

You may be like my husband, he didn't even know he had a hairline fracture in his foot. Been walking around with a limp for 4 months before I made him go.

I ‘sprained’ both my elbows a few months apart from each other doing the same dumb thing, doctors thought it was fine didn’t think X-ray was needed, so I didn’t bother with it until the second time it still felt sore and swollen after 2 months, got me an X-ray then got a phone call that afternoon telling me to go back to the doctor as soon as possible. They were both fractured, thankfully minor all they needed was rest but still. I’m hyper mobile with high pain tolerance, so that contributed to me getting dismissed

Tee I would %100 precent have a doctor check it out. Plus the swelling alone can cause nerve damage in the foot.

name: Sadie
age: 14 years
gender: Mare/Never bred when alive
breed: Warmblood
looks: (image at bottom)
height: 16.2hh
personality: Sarcastic, wise in her own way, not very talkitive to strangers, gentle, kind and loves healing.
backstory: She was born in a small stable on a large estate in a time when cars were rare and horses were bred with purpose. She grew up running in the green pastures with a herd of young horses until she turned four. At that time she began training and would be sold to the village doctor who waskind and sarcastic himself. 10 years she served him faithfully through storms, emergencies, war and at the end they were together still. She and her human perished during a wild storm as they traversed a narrow road trying to reach a family that needed help getting to safety. The family survived thanks to them because the lightning struck the carriage creating a bonfire that lit the way to safety even as the doctor and his trusty mare passed beyond the veil.
role: I am not sure what role would be best...

Duchess trotted down the hil as ghost began to check on the rest of the herd. Duchess whispered "Sadie, is there anything suspicious you've seen?" Duchess looked around the valley, all the horses were beginning yo settle down for sleep

Looking at the valley Sadie Turned her eye towards the mare that had come next to her and returning her gaze outwards watching the herd settling down and shook her head her long forelock covering her eyes for a moment.
"I don't think so but things can happen when you least suspect them too... so I will patrol some more before I settle down."
The appaloosa marked mare sighed as she turned her head towards her herdmate and asked her if she noticed anything. Sadie twitched her hide as a slight breeze blew ruffling the grasses by her pasterns and tangling her tail hairs then flicking an ear she resigned herself to grooming her tail again later.
(sory if I don't always have a Y as that key is messed up a bit)

Mystery came back from the stream and rejoined the herd, looking up at where Ghost stood, she laid down and went to sleep

Duchess turned as Ghost approached, "Everyone in the herd is here" she motioned with her muzzle to the other herd members laying down (NPC's) She looked up as the moon began to rise above they're heads, her mane and tail blowing in the wind as she then looked at ghost

Sadie sighed as she watched and waited for the stallion to approach. Letting the breeze blow her wav hair she stamped a hoof to drive the pesky grass gnats away from her dark legs.
"It is calm for now" Sadie said just a touch of her natural sarcasm leaking through as her eyes reflected the moonlight.
She liked being here she thought and enjoed the company of the others but silently missed the days spent rushing to and fro with the Doctor. She whickered softly as a couple of bats flew by in front of the moon.

Mystery woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. She stood up and nodded to Duchess as if to say "I'm going out" she turned and left the herd, going to the river and standing on a small hill, watching as the moon ripples over the water, the wind carrying her mane

Angel stood at the waters edge. She hadn't been herself lately. Something was troubling her. She smelt the constant smell of smoke.
