The brindle is the only thing that makes him 1/1, a so without it he wouldn't be that rare in colour and therefore not much use for colour breeding, as brindle isn't genetic :)

My entire life I was obsessed with horses. But horse riding is expensive and so my parents could never afford it. So I had to make do with the very occasional horse trek and last year my friends had bought me 2 lessons for my birthday.

Fast forward a few years and I now have a job and now I'm thinking of taking riding lessons. Not right now because I have uni and can only afford to work so many days. But I'm thinking of taking them in the summer when I have a bit more cash and time on my hand. I've found a place that is kinda close to me, but they are also an occupational therapy place too, but all the other places are a bit further away than I would like to drive to.
This place is also more in my budget for things as well.

But one of the things I feel is holding me back is my age I'm 20 (21 in September) and I don't know, I guess I feel I would feel kind of old going, just because on their website it only seems to mention things about kids and seems very child orientated, and I guess I don't want to feel out of place.

I know riding has no age limit and it should be fine, but I just tend to stress and worry about these things.

Don’t worry about how it looks to other people. You get one life to live. If you want to take riding lessons, then go take riding lessons. Don’t let other people dictate whether or not you get to live your life the way you want. That leaves a lot of room for regret and it would be a shame to be 90 years old, having not done things you were passionate about because of other people.

It is YOUR life. No one else’s. Do not let other people validate you. Go have fun. Learn something new. <3

Plenty of adults take lessons.

I'm starting to think about getting back into lessons/showing and I'm 27!

You got this girl.

I have a student who is 60-ish. (she wont tell me exactly, LOL) she loves the horses and getting out. Don't let anyone else hold you back from what makes you happy.

Go enjoy yourself, don't worry what anyone else thinks.

I was afraid of horses until I was in my teens, and didn't start wanting to even be around them until I was around 17. So as you can imagine, I started a little late as well...

My first classes were all adults that were just starting to learn as well. Eventually I got good, and certified and started teaching. The oldest person I taught was well over 65 (or time had really not been kind XD) So do what makes you happy!

Go for it! At my barn, I’m actually the ONLY teenager. Everyone else is well into their 30s and 40s. They’re jumping, doing dressage, and showing at high level shows across the country. Riding had no age, and there’s plenty of barns with many adult riders. I think you’d fit right in.

Go take a lesson and see if you like the barn environment. A lot of lesson barns do advertise more heavily on the kid side of things but that doesn't mean they don't offer adult-only beginner lessons. Many people start riding in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s...you won't be out of place.

Have fun!
