@DD, yes. I kind of want a betta fish. Trying to decide if I should do a planted tank.

Ironically, he can grow 10-feet long Jungle Val, and as soon as I take a few pieces of it, it dies in my tanks. So it's all about finding the plants that you can maintain and thrive in your tanks!

Bird, then you need to have a good piece of driftwood or lava rock to attach it to. But they still grow and require trimming! I have a giant anubias in my 135 that has been growing for 6 years on a large piece of driftwood. I can't seem to kill it, but I'll give pieces to my dad for his tank whenever I need to do maintanance and he can't get them to grow at all. Some pieces that are 3 years old are the same size as when I gave them to him. So... I'm not sure about that. I think they're easy and great plants. If you asked my dad he'd say they're pointless LOL

Charm,
He was wild! The brightest pink and shimmery blue I've ever seen in a betta. Loved his leaf hammocks, too.

@Charm, what about rhizome plants that don't need to go in substrate?
Backwood Barns
10:02:42 Charm's Wubs
Bird, you have to have the right soil/substrate first of all. And then you have to either find someone local who will give you cuttings of their established plants, or order online (I recommend ModernAquarium if you do this, I've never had a bad order.) and then once they are established you have to trim them and keep them maintained so they don't overgrow. Sometimes that means throwing extras away, sometimes that means replanting them... if that makes sense.

Bird,
I do not, Paarthurnax passed just before my move to Tennessee. However, he had a 20 gallon tank all to himself, which a ton of silk plants and caves.

@Versa, do you currently have a betta? What size tank is he in?

I ended up only with a few moss balls because my betta that I tried live plants with had serious beef with these inanimate objects lol

Live plants are an insane amount of work, but sooo worth it. Also, if you like houseplants like pothos/monstera they can be grown above the water column! Their roots LOVE the fish water.

Bro, mine would flare and go bonkers through his entire tank every time it turned off! It was hilarious. But I had to have it off sometimes to clean up the tank lol

This is Nala
*will get picks of Bridgett!

Nala - 7 yr old red roan paint mare. She is fast and quick although built like a stone wall. She is a complete angel and is my project horse to train for barrels. This is my horse! I'm so proud of her!

Bridgett - 12 yr old flea bitten grey suspected quarter pony mare. Lazy and currently pregnant. We do not know the stallion and I don't think the previous owner does either. This is my sister's mare.

My sister agreed for me to post about Bridgett in this adventure forum! This will follow the journey of both Nala and Bridgett in our care! It will consist of picture and other information you may want to know!

I'm in love with this little mare! She has a few bad habits but I almost got her out of them all. She's a darling other than that.

Update!!!

I have been given a job! Nala is a very high strung mare and likes to go! She is perfect for barrels and is still slightly agressive. It is my job to get her under control and over the past four days she has done wonderful! We started not even being able to walk without her trying to bust into a run. Now we are full trotting and semi-loping! I am so excited for this summer!

Update!!!

So, Nala regressed in training today. I think I have worked her too heard and put too kuch stress on her. So this weekend is a break for her rather than hard riding. I may get on her and walk around a bit just so she knows she isn't off the hook. She crow hopped two seperate times and I got off and made her lunge. I feel bad for losing my patience and getting angry and giving up today. I feel bad that she knows. She moped about this evening. So I went out and apologized and groomed her for a while just talking. I will update on her progress as we go.

He is super cute and full of himself haha, as you'd imagine with colts! One of my lease mares is being put with my roan mare's brother who is also a roan (bay roan). Let there be roans :D <3
