They are pretty equal other than a few things.

Barns:
- Horses have to be fed hay bales ( not round ).
- Mares and stallions can be housed in the same barn without breeding.

Pastures:
- Horses have to be fed round bales.
- If not horses are on pasture, you can harvest hay.
- Mares and stallions will randomly breed together if housed in same pasture.
