Off topic but I got my first Grand Champion at fair this week. I got it in hand showman ship. I don't do this class often but every once in a while I do.

Very true. Trail riding is harder for me now too, used to be we'd cover 20+ miles every weekend and now I have to trailer off property if we want to trail ride. Developers suck

Puck,
mainly so if I get off, or fall, my foot has a bit more protection if something stabs my. But we don't actually get to much to trail ride. sometimes. I'll just go to the pasture and lay on my horse lol, usually have crocs on for that though

Puck,
I usually wear tennis shoes or boots on trail ride for that reason. I was told not to go barefoot on the trails so

Yeah I dont do sports mode for riding, I either kick them off or just ride until they fall off. Like last night I rode bareback and barefoof in a swampy arena. So the splashes were fun

My Favourite Shoes are by far my Teva sandals though.
They are so comfortable. I could do a 20km Hike easily in those in summer.

Crocs are good for us on the farm.
Slip them on with your inside fluffy socks still on to go outside and get some wood, feed horses or chickens etc. I can slip them on and off without hands too.

I usually use "Healthy Hair Care Moisturizer" but I went to place an order (since nowhere local carries it) and it's damn near $40 for a 16 oz bottle. I swear it use to only be $20 when I started buying it

Does anybody have any suggestions that would work in replacement and not cost $40 before shipping?

Honestly, if your human hair conditioner doesn't have parabens and sulfates or any of those other things (and nothing your horse is allergic to, of course) that should be fine. Otherwise, I highly recommend Cowboy Magic. I'm like 100% certain it is significantly less expensive than what you're ordering.
Edit: It's $11.95 on Dover for 16 oz. Not sure the price for the other sizes (32 oz & 1 gallon).

Cowboy Magic. I use it on all my horses and it works like a charm, a little goes a long way with that stuff too, and it's pretty cheap

I use a self made concoction for my horses and it works amazing plus makes around 2 bottles.
Use human leave in conditioner I use like 3 different kinds I'd have to look in my tack locker to see which ones but I know one is the NOU brand and then I use a horse coat shine/hair conditioner and add about 50% of that and then the rest I fill with water

Omg and also I use keratin hair masks on my horse's tail and it works amazing his tail has to get cut consistently or else it starts dragging the ground

This forum isn't even set up for me to find tips, but here I am 😂
I will definitely have to try this on one of my yearlings, his pasturemate and best friend, liked to gnaw on his tail so it's growing back 😂

I'll try to get a photo of his tail before I started doing them and how it is now lol I was shopping in Walmart and saw the hair masks and said "well if it works for people" and his tail is probably the healthiest tail of any of my horses I've ever owned
