Could it be attacking if it's a mama bat.
Hopefully it's clear of rabies.

No, I'm in Canada. We don't have those around here. It was probably just a brown bat.

They normally left me alone.

Yeah, that's why I went to the ER. There's bats around here where I live, but they don't usually fly low. This one came straight for me and hung on. It bit me on the neck and when I swatted it away, it kind of just flopped onto the ground before flying away.

also from what i have been told, even thought .9 percent of bats have rabies, certain species are MUCH more likely to have it. and sick bats are typically the ones who bite, as bats are extremely fearful of people. somebody correct me if im wrong

How unusual, for a bat to be out in broad daylight. It must indeed have been rabid.

okay so im a fairly beginner rider. i can W/T/C and do small jumps confidently at a trot. 1. now i am curious if there are any specific workouts or anything i can do off of a horse to improve position ( mainly lower leg). 2. whenever i am in a canter and i add leg i loos my stirrups, should i be doing more no stirrup work? 3. how to prepare for a jump better, i find myself abit sloppy right before a jump.yes, i have a trainer but i am looking for more advice. i also take lessons 1-2 times a week but ride 3-4 times a week
thanks! (:

Squats, planks, and push ups are awesome for strengthening your riding muscles!
If you're losing your stirrups, it's probably because you're gripping with your knees. When you get on and walk your horse, stand straight up and focus on bringing your knee beneath you and your weight into your heels, then bring your knee off the horse and feel how your calves and heels are against your horse. Then sit back down again and try to maintain that feel.
When preparing for a jump, just ignore the jump. At your level, a jump is just another canter stride. Just focus on a point past the jump and counting one-two-one-two down to the jump and riding away from it and straight to your point.
And don't forget to have fun! :)

Also when your learning how to ride, Horses around 22 or older are more layed back and easy to ride. The horse i started on was a show jumper and she had pain in her back legs so i could run not or anything but get used to it.
