He's a borzoi. I have his mom too, she is 11 years old and had her crazy zoomies times when she was younger, but she was always pretty level headed. Matrix is going to be 8 in September yet still behaves like a pup most of the time. My first zoi was his grand-aunt, who also got pretty serious as soon as she turned 3, but she could get up to some mischief every now and then

Awwww bless him, he's just trying to enrich their lives xD What breed is he? Patterdales are known for being super clever, which is definitely the case with Norm. Paddy must have been stuck in the birth canal for a while I think bless him. He does have his moments but getting stuck somewhere with a little blank stare is his trademark

I am very familiar with the 2 braincells thing! I was always wondering why people claim my breed is stupid while I had only girls. they are very smart, downright cunning. Now I have one male and he's the biggest himbo. In fall he keeps carrying around hedgehogs he finds in the yard, like some sort of world's shittiest rollercoaster!
Minerva

Norm did help me herd 60ish ram lambs every day for a while though so he does have his talents. Actual herding isn't particularly one of them but he tried his best and didn't bite or chase anything so I was happy xD
Minerva
06:13:12 Min
Haha I wish- they're utterly useless xD I was hoping Norm would show an interest in ratting so I could use him on the farm I worked at and in my own paddock, but he wouldn't say boo to a goose. In fairness he did grow up with a hamster so it's sort of understandable. Paddy's a little bit more "kill-y" but he's got 2 functioning braincells on a good day so unless something is presented to him he's useless haha

Is there a glitch with the explore ratings?

Multiple times I've had Sub-Par 0% brave horses make it 49 steps without spooking.

And then the World Class 100% brave horses spook at nearly every challenge.

Want to make sure the system isn't devaluing the explore/brave horses

They don't spook with certian actions at the different areas. I have a mare I am keeping track of, WC 0%, and I go with the options that I know she won't spook with. Like Nudge at Ravine, Brair, Hill and Underbrush, and Stick at Pond. I find it a bit easier when trying to do the explore for maps.

This has been a trend for years and I would appreciate if the Explore / Bravery system was looked over.

Many instances have I experienced on a daily basis of my WC 100% with High Morale horses spook at multiple obstacles in a single explore session. It's not One Time with One Horse - it's multiple sessions with the same stats during one RL day of exploring.

I also have a barn full of unexplored horses that I'm slowly rating - I have gone 45 moves before a sub-par will spook. This is not a one off instance, I have this experience with around two or so unrated horses a day - all eventually rating at sub-par.
I understand that Morale is a factor, and I watch this, giving Wormy Apples or Treats when applicable. Although it is frustrating to give the wormy apple ($) and several steps later reach above that morale rating - wasted money.

I absolutely agree and see this a lot. WC bravery doesn't feel like it sometimes.

Agree as well, had that a lot.
A make-over of Explore would be great. Maybe also in combination with a testing system, like a premium feature to paying the Explorers Guild for testing the bravery. When you have to test around 400-1100 horses per year, I'd rather invest the money than the time, especially when it takes an average of 10 moves to find out bravery in horses that are supposedly between S and W bravery.

The bravery system has seemed wonky for years. Fully trained world class horses spook as much if not more than an untrained subpar. I love the idea of bravery and decor, but the current setup is frustrating and unrewarding.

I must admit that I have never had a W brave horse go 50 miles on first explore to test their bravery.
Mostly it is S or P value horses. However I have more S & P value horses so is the feeling just because we have many more lower value horses to test?
I will construct some accurate stats next month and report back. Sometimes gut feel alone does not tell all the truth.
I will evaluate initial bravery bar value, number of miles achieved, final bravery rated.

WC horses don't spook more or less, they encounter MORE obstacles than a Sub horse would.
So the chances of them spooking immediately are higher than a sub horse, because they're going to encounter more obstacles immediately.

Hi,
Here are my stats for initial explore for my cohort born in yr 189. It looks all similar to me, just luck. I resorted the list into W/E/P/S after completing initial ride.
My gut feeling was that W horses seem to start each explore with lower bravery %. But that does not seem true either. My excelent explorer Mystic Triumph W always starts really low. But Filosafyre W always starts higher %, also a good reliable explorer.
