PPP will be cheaper and train slower so they tend to earn more money in my opinion. Try to find ones that are level 3 and above because they'll make more in winnings.

I do SD for ones that have one discipline much greater than the others (like SSE) and anything PPP+ gets shown AD

SDs usually have ratings like A, S, and Sub surrounding the E or W.

Exhibiting a Pregnant Female July 24, 2025 12:43 AM

Just thought I would get some others' thoughts on this. We conducted a breeding for an outside female last year around this time. Had 3 ultrasound confirmations (30 days, 90 days, and 120 days) with heartbeats on each. Come to find out the owners exhibited said female at a show in April of this year, and contacted me today stating they could no longer feel movement of the cria, and haven't for the past two weeks, nor felt anything upon palpation. They also behavior tested her and she was receptive towards the male.
Personally, I would not jeopardize an outside breeding with one of my females just to win a championship banner (and our association offers high point awards at the end of the season, too). What are your thoughts? We just thought it was odd.
We will re-breed this female as it is stated in our contract, and we aren't fully sure if the loss of the pregnancy was from the show, but it could be a possibility among many other things that could've happened. This is about Alapcas for those curious. :-)
