If you have been following with Uber (my old project pony) you'll know that he has been sold and I am now taking on a new challenge.

For now he is here to stay unless it arises that I need/want to sell him later on in his training!

About:
Name: Noisy Boy
Age: 6 yrs
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Paint x TB
Registered: Yes
Color: Bay
Height: 16.1

Noisy was bought at auction like most horses we get (we are frequents at our local sales). He is very Thoroughbred looking which is why I was drawn to him. Come to find out of course he is a very well bred registered Paint but half TB!

Training so far:
Noisy has been pretty good since day one. We've really done a lot together already. I know absolutely nothing about his past or his training but he has definitely run barrels and poles and they definitely used a tie down. I've been lunging him in side reins a few times a week because he has developed an "upside down" neck from holding his head up in the air.
Being a jumper and having plans on making him one I've started him on some basic combos and singles and I've found he's a very spooky boy and frequent to refusals over new jumps no matter how small. We are working at about 2'3" at the moment.
He has some old injures I've found such as scaring and hard lump on his knee. None of which bothers him in the slightest. He has extremely smooth gaits and prefers his left lead.
The fun stuff so far:
In the short 2 weeks I've had Noisy we've done a lot.
This past weekend I took him to a jumping show. Yes. You heard me. My horses who's jumped 3 times went to his first jumping show. Of course we only did up to 2 foot. In the 2 foot we were eliminated for refusals because they decided to add roll tops, flower boxes and oxers for a 2 foot class. Need less to say I'm still mad.
The next day I took him out to his first playday (Barrels, Poles and a couple other events). We didn't do great but it was a good learning experience for us both. This is when I found out he's a pretty good poke horse.

That's all for now. Updates to come below and additions will likely be made up here :D

He was probably a playday horse that developed a behavioral issue. Being taken away from speed events was probably good for his mind. My playday mares, a 16 year old and her 5 year old daughter, both ball a little at jumps, but they will go ahead and try even if they knock it over. I've barely had them jump a foot and they are terrible at it, but that's those two. I think they only jump because we have to chase cattle through some rough places at times. I can't wait to hear more about how your new gelding does.

Pretty sure he wasn't a playday horse judging by his lack of skill lol. He's still young and he's probably just been started. His training is very very basic

Update 1: 10/3/19

Jump School!

We played around with a trot in canter our 2'3" line around to a 2'3" oxer and then over barrels. He was very good and is seeming to get more brave as the days go on.
That's all for that ride:)
