"I didn't even think of him, sorry" He said, grabbing a couple extra daggers and sheathing them on his body. "Do you need to change? I have clothes in the closet there." He offered, pointing to it

"No thank you, I'm fine in this." She said, and followed Caelan out of his study and into the hallway.

Caelan nodded. "I'll walk and you can ride." He said softly, getting out Aurora and tacking her up. He helped Adele up and walked beside her as he led them out and into the woods. "Where did you lose him?" He asked softly

Adele let him help her mount, but decided she really didn't want to ride and needed to walk around. "If you're walking, I'm walking." She said, before halting Aurora and hopping off. She scanned the woods, trying to remember where the guard had attacked her. "Right near the border of your kingdom... That way." She pointed west.

Caelan nodded and began walking. "Did he hurt you while you were walking?" Caelan asked suddenly, feeling a bit vengeful
| |

"No, but he was threatening me with a dagger. Please don't do anything to him, Caelan. He was just following orders." She begged.
| |

"Are you sure?" He asked, turning to her with concerned but soft eyes
| |

Adele answered, voice soft and insistent. "Yes, I'm sure. Punishing him for something that was hardly his fault is not the way to make what happened right." Her voice grew angry as she continued, "The person to do something about would be your mother." She looked at Caelan again, now compassionate and concerned. "What did she say to you?"

"Don't worry, it wasn't anything too bad. She just said stuff about how I should just accept the fact that I'm a horrible person and king."
