@Charm, do you by chance have a photo of your tank?
Charmed Acres
10:30:53 Charm/Charmie
No. Nalo is in a 20 gallon long, which is about 12" tall.
Charmed Acres
10:29:48 Charm/Charmie
My 20 gallon is an Aqueon, my 40 is a Marineland (I think). I love them both. And if you buy them new, stores will have a return policy on them in case a seam leaks or theres a crack you can't see.

The only time I recommend buying second-hand is if you're purchasing a large tank and are willing to learn how to reseal it. Otherwise, it's cheaper (and safer) to buy from a store!

Oh also, I heard betta fish like shallow water so does that mean something as tall as 12" is too tall for them?

Do you guys have any tank brand recommendations? I definitely need one with a lid.
Charmed Acres

They are great for supplies! Our LFS actually partners with them because of how much they recommend them.

I was thinking of ordering supplies from this company. I have heard good things and they have good guides.

Checkout used tanks often people will be nearly giving them away, just make sure to fill it up outside first for a few days to make sure it’s not leaking. Never take a tank with cracks even if they’re small and are current ply holding water
Backwood Barns
10:19:31 Charm's Wubs
Or, you can typically do it cheaper by piecing it together yourself. Tank, light, cover(optional), heater, filter, air pump, airline hoses, bubble wand, substrate, and then obviously decorations (nothing plastic) and the fish.

I reccomend tetras as well, you want a lot 10-20 as theyre schooling fish and they have a high casualty rate especially when you first get them

You can get a 20 gallon tall kit at most pet stores for about $200 that will include just about everything except substrate, plants, and fish.

Bird, I loved my tetras, I believe I had the 2 for 4/5 years? But do be weary when you get them, I originally had 4 but unfortunately we lost 2 very shortly after due to the 'professionals' we talked with I'll informing us on the best amount for our tank!

Like with anything it takes a lot of research (and it's a bit of an investment) to do things right.

Bettas are definitely able to get away with a 10. I just wouldn't go lower, they explore and swim around way more than people realize

Hmm, is it kind of like fried pickles? I like those. I don't know. I've heard from lots of people that pickles on pizza are really good and I've also heard the exact opposite.

Sorry pickles on pizza is like pineapple on pizza to me. No just no. Fried pickles are one thing and yummy if the breading isn't over spiced. Pineapple served hot should be grilled and either have brown sugar on it or a terriyaki glaze to carmalize it.

Haha yeah, she's got some tricks to make them really good too. I've never tried grilled pineapple though. My mom got this burger once and it had the weirdest things. Pineapple, peanut butter, bacon, and some other stuff too. It sounds gross but she said it was good.

I had to go and Google this as what we call pickle is something like chutney. What is called a pickle in the US is what we would call a gerkin.

Actually pickled is a term for pickling any veggie or in some cases roots like ginger, but making a pickle solution to put said veggies or roots in. American's call pickled cucumbers pickles, where as over in Europe they are called Gerkins. American's for their pickles have several types, bread and butter, dill, gerkin (Which are very small pickled cucumbers) and other names.... all due to the spices and process for pickeling said cucumber. I'm not sure if over in Europe different processes would still call a pickled cucumber over there a Gerkin or something like a bread and butter pickle.
