(This RP is goooood) . Adele frowned when Caelan didn't smile at her playful joke, but figured he was probably going through something. "Well, it's kind of hard to like anything about the Night Kingdom when it's the exact opposite of what I'm used to, but... I can say confidently that it's beautiful here, and that I'm not forming an escape plan." Adele didn't look over at the prince, as she was still processing the whole, well, everything. She didn't know what she wanted, or what to do next, or anything. She was just going to have to roll with everything that came her way. That was the way she'd always done it. |

Caelan noeed. "Of course." He watched as the sun was now directly above them. "Wouldyou like to have lunch with me or...not because-Never mind." He cut off his sentence, wanting to be careful with how he phrased things. He didn't want it to be like a date, persay, but a friendly out-to-lunch thing with her. He wanted to stay friends--or whatever they were--for as long as he could. He really liked her and didn't want to screw this up, especially because of her kingdom's power. The Day kingdom king was never kind to Night kingdom people when he found out who they are. Only the royal family, though, had wings and the usual tattoo of their last name's initial somewhere on their body. Caelan's was on his wrist, the large letter T in a fancy cursivealong with a crown below it as a symbol of royal heritage. He sighed, exhausted and overwhelmed |

Sensing that Caelan was getting a little flustered, Adele couldn't help but feel bad for him. "No, no, of course I will! I mean, if you want me to. Because I kind of have to listen to you. When you're a servant, you basically have to listen to your master's orders. You don't really have a choice." Adele said kindly, running a hand through her hair. This was way more awkward than it needed to be. Both she and Caelan were clearly going through hard things, and they didn't know what to say to each other. Adele looked away, out at the horizon again. But as long as she had someone to talk to, she would be fine. More than fine, in this case. Adele's her cheeks flushed, and she turned so as to hide her face from the prince. |

"Is something wrong?" He asked, looking at her slightly defensive position. "Are you alright?" He asked, extending a hand to touch her back or shulder before quickly pulling it back. "S-sorry..." He muttered, folding his hands in his lap. "You can do whtever, I don't care. I'll still pay you and you'll have a place to stay whenever you like and food as well. Plently of it. Please don't think I'm forcing you to do anything youdon't want to. Just tell me what you want or don't want and I'll at least listen if not agree." He said quietly, lookingat his hands--his disgusting, Night kingdom, future king, horrible person hands. He would never be enough for her. He let his mind drag him under, not feeling strong enough to resist right now, as a tear rolled down his cheek and fell down the cliff face. He tried to his his face in his hands but he only cried silently harder. Gods, I'm such a mess. You're not enough....Monster...Not good enough....Cruel...Not good enough...Selfish...Not good enough...Mean...Not good enough...A beast...not good enough...Ugly...Not good enough! His mind yelled at him, reminding him of how horrible he was |

Adele was about to say something to the prince when she heard something. It sounded like... crying? Adele turned to see Caelan's head in his hands, his body shaking. Adele scooted closer and touched his shoulder. "Hey, it's all right. Shh, you're okay. It's okay, Caelan. I'm here." Adele shifted so her arm was draped over his shoulder, holding him protectively. She felt like she was comforting a lonely puppy as she continued murmuring kind words to him. "Shh, it's all right. You're okay." |

"I'm not alright, I'm a horrible person and I will never be the king nor friend you need or my kingdom needs. I don't know how to be better and I don't know how much longer I can go with all this weight on my shoulders...." He admitted quietly, leaning into her touch. He knew he shouldn't, but he wanted her arms around him in promise of love and safety. He shoved the thought from his mind before he did something he'd regret and she'd hate him for. |

Adele wasn't sure what to say, so she didn't say anything for a while. Then she replied, "You know what, that's exactly what has been going through my mind ever since-- I mean, for a long time. That's why I ran away. I realize now it was the wrong thing to do. I could have stayed and talked about it with my parents, and maybe they would understand, maybe not. But then at least I'd know that they heard me and what I was going through. Instead, I was a coward and escaped through my window. I'm sure they're searching everywhere for me, and I still don't know what to do! I want to be a good princess and someday a good queen, but I don't know how. I know my father and mother have made mistakes, and I want to fix them, but I'll never be good enough for that. I'm..." Adele paused, realizing she was about to tell her secret to someone she barely knew. Instead, she said, "I'm just really scared." Adele realized a tear was slipping down her cheek, but didn't bother wiping it away. |
