Oh thats so good! My guy isnt quite "lob a blanket on" level yet but its so rewarding watching how confident they can become
Minerva

Absolutely haha. I'm really proud of him though- he arrived at the end of May vaguely leadable but pretty much feral and had to live in the field shelter for a week. Now he's out in the field with no headcollar 24/7 and I can lob a rug onto him while he's loose without him lifting his head

Yeah Boulder so relatable. I try to let my horse initiate touch and the things we do whenever possible. Like take the extra five minutes to let her walk up to me in the field instead of going out and getting her, pause when she turns her head away when brushing, etc. It changes the game truly and has honestly completely changed how I go about life in general, for the better. Horses have so little autonomy in our world so the little things like that we can do means so much to them. When I’m bridling a horse or anything like that I notice that they will maybe seem like they’re saying no initially by turning away or something. If you notice and respect that a lot of the time they will immediately put their nose in after, where if you had tried to chase after them it probably would escalate. That whole philosophy just means a lot to me

Speaking of training
- I saw incredible training with Dan of Double Dan
What he can do with horses is amazing
I was enthralled with the Road To The Horse exhibition
Silver Melody Acres
01:42:08 Solar - KNNs
Typical gangly teenage boy XD

Haha I'll put a bit less pressure on myself then thank you. I'm hoping to get some poles before the end of the year so we can do some proprioception work because my goodness that boy doesn't know where his feet are xD Plus side is he doesn't mind things being around his legs whatsoever since he's so used to wandering into things

No lines, and no chasing. You just don't know our way and I'll leave it at that.

I wasn't a super fan of Warwick until I saw an article heading that said something like Let Your Horse Approach You
(Yes literally only read the title)
And it's made a Huge improvement in my interactions with the horses at the barn.
I can have the stall door open and have them between me at it (huge outdoor pen) and they will chose to come to me and boop my hand without any interaction besides standing still.

And I saw a video where he said don't touch the horse until they touch you and they will tell you where to touch

(Some of it feels woowoo, but it's making a difference in the relationships between the horses and I)
Red Horizon Ranch
01:38:37 Red
Yeah of course, it’s definitely a trust the process kind of exercise you have to be patient and you’ll feel like you’re not doing anything but worth it. I enjoy when training feels more collaborative with our animal friends, worth the time it takes

Awww good pony! It just sounds like typical laziness/not being confident enough to carry himself forward. He'll get there!

Ooh I'll have a look at that one, thanks Red!
Minerva
01:34:16 Min
Haha exactly Puck! I'm hoping the more we go out the more keen he'll be to get on with it. He's a very good chap overall- and he's even happy to walk out in front of Minnie if I've got someone to lead her. He met his first tractor last night and was a 10/10 brave boy bless him

Unless your lunge lunge is 200 feet long it's gonna be a small circle lol
Red Horizon Ranch
01:33:01 Red
And no chasing, showing them who’s boss, etc. necessary. I really don’t enjoy having to do that kind of thing and good news, you really basically never have to XD

I said nothing about small circles, but whatever.
We have a different view of how to do things with 2 yr olds.

I really like Warwick Schiller’s “leading with energy” exercise for staying in the right position/responsiveness when leading, my mate was so “lazy” seeming and wanted to be directly behind me while leading, would pin her ears and swish tail when asked to go forward, it worked incredibly well
Minerva
01:31:33 Min
To be honest the maximum I'd ever lunge any horse is like 20 minutes, and that would be their entire work for the day. It has it's place but isn't my preferred method for anything
FirstLightFarms
01:30:53 puck
Min, he sounds like my pony! Just needs to learn a little responsibility about walking forward instead of being dragged every step 😂
FirstLightFarms
01:30:05 puck
Yeah it'd hurt, small circles are the worst for babies. Great way to do damage to their joints. And chasing a horse on the line isnt exactly the best way to establish you're in charge 🙃

Welcome to Grand Champion Stables!

The stable was built back in September 1st, 2018 and it was founded by a woman named Caroline Sterling. She has been around horses since she was a child.

Even though the stable is big and fancy, it was hardly heard of since it wasn't the most well known facility in Belgrade, Montana like some of the other stables were. She use to struggle with paying the bills as they were having issues with money which the stables was almost torn to the ground, luckily some of the riders managed to keep that from happening by either doing shows or selling project horses that they've worked with to give them good homes.

We also have the two big houses where the instructors/veterinarians and riders/stable hands will be staying at and both the Owner's House & the two houses will be on property so you don't have to worry about your horses since you can always check up on them.

One belongs to the riders/stable hands and the other belongs to the Instructors/veterinarians, both will have their own rooms since everyone deserves to have some privacy to themselves or decompress from socializing with other people.

Description of the dorms would look like: Each room will have one single bed on the left side of the room, one well made wooden desk with comfy rolling chair that spins, a very clean wooden floor, four bookshelves on both opposite sides of the room to put any decoractions on the shelves to your liking or more room for your books, one bathroom, and two windows on both opposite sides of the room so you can have a nice view from any floor level of dorm that your comfortably staying in.

The stables have gotten some glory as one of their best riders have brought legacy to it's name, will you be able to bring more of the glory to this homestead?

~ Rules ~

1. Drama is allowed but not outside of the thread.

2. Be polite to others.

3. No Godmodding, Power Playing, Mary sue/Gary stue, or Perfect Character. No one likes a flawless character so add some flaws to them.

4. Respect all roleplayers.

5. Follow Eve's rules and HEE's rules.

6. Hate the character, not the person behind the screen.

7. Romance is allowed but keep it PG and no "love at first sight" or any of that bullshit.

8. Do Not! Kill or injure another player's character or horse without their permission!

9. Swearing is allowed but keep it either miled or PG.

10. If you have read all the rules, put your favorite horse breed in "Other".

11. Please no one liners, you'll be expected to write more like a 3 sentence paragraph at minimum. I don't expect perfect grammar from anyone at the very least. Please be able to write between 100-500 words.

Side Note: I have every right to either accept or decline a player's sheet so please don't take it personal by any means and I won't be reserving spots so don't ask me to reserve any spots for you. Thank you.

Also Note: People who have signed up with the rider sheet will be treated like new riders, except for my character Heather Storm, to the facility and not everyone will know each or become fast friends, the only people that will know each other that work at the facility is the barn Owner, returned rider {my character}, riding Instructors and stable hands. If anyone has a problem with this, you can always reach me in my mailbox :3
Thank you for your time and patience.

She stands around at 5'9 while weighing at 168 pounds.

Relationship with their Grandparents?
Caroline would feaquently zoom call with her two grandparents almost everyday but she was quite heart broken by the news of the passing of their deaths. She has pictures of them on her office wall when she was younger to basically keep memories of them.

Personality
Caroline is a kind soul as she makes sure that everyone feels welcomed at the estate, including the horses or other animals either come or live in the facility. Being a caring woman that she is, she tends to make sure that everyone is happy and healthy, along with the animals on the property, even though she tends to forget to take care of herself at times while worrying about everyone else. Caroline is very outgoing as she tends to be roaming all over the yard instead of staying in one place except if she has some paperwork to get filed up and organized. She very much tends to be sometimes strict when she attends to buisness that involves the facility since the place is her lifehood that she built from the ground up. She'll get serious when theres things need to be done like paying the bills of the facility or taking two riders to her office to have an important talk with them if a fight was about to break out and the list goes on but whenever there isn't any chaos going about the yard, she let's herself get laid back and just enjoy every moment of the calmness until it becomes chaotic once more.

Relationship with Past Owned Horse(s)?
Caroline had a really strong connection with Clarity, like the duo could do anything together in a sense. The young woman had the mare since she was 13 or 14 when her parents got the equine for her after they got settled into their new home in Belgrade, Montana. They were both serious competitors in their youngers days but as the years pass, The red head sadly lost her mare to an aggressive stage 4 cancer.

Other Pets
Ollie, a neutered Male Border Collie

Background
Caroline grew up in Ireland almost her entire life until both her and her family moved to America which is where she started her competitive equestrian career with her first horse, Clarity. But when she turned 18 or 19 years old, she sadly lost her mare to an aggressive stage 4 cancer even though they did everything that they could which has shaped her into the person she is today. She went to college to study in the business career, once she graduated from college, she decided to open up her own riding facility and in 2018, September 1st was when Grand Champion Stables was brough to life, the facility still stands to this day.
