I would just say overall ALWAYS do your research! Every fish needs something different such as tank size, food. etc. Also some fish don't get along with others. :) Plus what works for one person might not work for another.

Corys are cute but they theyre bottom dwelling, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have something else to hang in the middle

@bird yes! they scavenge the substrate for food! But watching them breed is really inserting! Mine do every so often but the eggs always get eaten. They are considered a bottom dweller :)

Yesss I love corys. I always add them to my tank because they eat leftover food that sinks to the bottom and help reduce ammonia spikes

Ok so this is a genuine question for any parents on HEE - My mom said dinner's ready and I said what are we having. She said chicken, shrimp, and salad. I said what kind of salad and she started freaking out and telling me I'm rude and not supportive. Now here's the question - Is there a reason for this?

Corydoras sound fun too, but evidently they only stay at the bottom of the tank?

I want to get duckweed or something similar cause it’s super prolific but the two goldfish I have in there at the moment would eat it all XD they’ll probably be moving on to a friends pond soon though

I have been stalking the other "sad mane/tail" forums, but I figured I'd make my own.

-

My mare has quite the wimpy tail. I just got her home, but it appears that in the past someone chewed on it. (I'll post a picture later). I also know that when she goes into heat, she loves to rub her tail. Would anyone have suggestions on a good shampoo to help her with that?

She isn't a show horse, so I'm not too worried about it, but I am looking for suggestions on how to get it to grow and thicken up since the flies around here are pesky, even with a fly sheet.

She has had all of the minerals she could ever need, and a good diet, so I'm not sure what else would help.

Ground flax seed does wonders and I haven't met a horse who didn't like the flavor. It can also help with inflammation from pest bites and dry skin...Though it might take awhile to see any benefit in the dry skin department.

I personally use Manely. They're pricy, but the conditioner and detangler they sell work wonders. I have a bottle of their shampoo, but haven't gotten around to trying it, yet. If you're outside of the US, I'm not sure how easy it'd be to get it, though.

A lot of people braid their tails and put them in a tail bag. That will protect the hair for the most part, and they will still be able to swat flies. Getting her to stop rubbing her tail would be a different issue...
