Background & Intro Welcome to Schoffer Farms...the home of the toughest and most competitive elite polo team for young riders. Sitting on 60 acres in Ocala Flordia, we have a main barn with 25 stalls, multiple wash racks with hot and cold water, a large tack room, a riders lounge, a large outdoor arena, a polo field, an exercise track, a round pen, hacking trails, many different pastures and paddocks, and 4 rider apartments (2 for the female team which has 4 riders and 2 for the male team which has 4 riders. They are fully furnished (decorate appropriately to your liking) with 1 full bathroom, a living room, kitchen, dining area, and 2 bedrooms (you will have a roommate the females will be roommates with other females and males will be roommates with other males.) We have a very selective process when it comes to our team we recruit young riders aged (18-22) from all over the world who have exceptional skills, work ethic, and sportsmanship. Coached by Argentina native Emelia Salvador and her husband Esteban Salvador, Their daughter Natalia Salvador helps run the program she assists in practices demonstrating, retrieving balls, and refereeing along with hosting team bonding events and running the barn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- At Schoffer Farms we understand not everyone who is traveling can bring their polo ponies and so we do have a few horses to use during your time on our team. You are here because you were chosen to be a part of a carefully curated group of riders who will practice and go on to compete in the US Polo Nations Cup. We have 3 years to play in matches and accumulate points to continuously move up in the divisions. Once qualified we play the final match in Wellington FL the winning team takes home lots of money and riders are offered permit spots on the best teams around. Our polo ponies ( if interested put their name in your sign-ups) Fairy is also a very seasoned horse she can take anyone on the field. She can be a bit lazy at times but knows when to put it into gear. She is pretty much an auto horse and she is super willing and will listen to anyone. The perfect petite size, she is quick and smart. Kit Kat can be a bit mareish in her stall and paddock but on the field, she is a star! She is the sweetest mare we have, she has foaled a few of our homebred polo ponies. She was actually a rescue we found her and rehabilitated her into our polo pony! She is fast and can turn on a dime. She is a favorite to ride! He is quite the looker with his striking gold color, Archie is a strong horse he is confident and very brave. He takes commands very well but needs an experienced rider to give him the correct cues. Khors- Dark Bay RID gelding He might be chunky but don't let it fool you, this handsome horse is an expert on the field. He is a very seasoned polo horse and such a powerful mover. Eddy- Dark bay sport horse gelding A goofy but adjustable guy, Eddy is a bit green to polo but is learning fast! He would be great for someone very confident... He can get up and go but needs more help with his steering. RULES - Only basic polo knowledge is required (you can use the internet to learn this has currently been my obsession)
- Drama, romance, etc. between players is allowed as long as both players agree to it and it follows HEE rules
- Minor injuries are allowed Major injuries are okay every once in awhile if approved such as a horse needing to be on stall rest and them getting or using a different horse
- It's very acceptable for your character to be "snobby", wealthy or competitive
- Polo is common in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, and England so when choosing where your character is from other than the US try to keep it relatively realistic (example of what not to put, your polo player is from Antarctica)
- Light cursing is allowed but no bullying or being mean to others unless it's competitive banter between players and the other person is okay with it
- Try to stay relatively realistic with horses as well polo ponies can be any breed but are most commonly sport breeds and occasionally stock breeds (TB, WB, QH, Arab, appendix, etc.) so please don't put like a Clydesdale.

Full Name: Natalia Isabelle Salvador Age: 21 Gender: Female Personality: Appearance: Natalia has long dark brown hair like her mother that is usually wavy most of the time, and she has medium tan skin. She gets her piercing green eyes from her father. She is 5'6 and 110 lbs. She is quite slender but has lots of muscle. She has a light dusting of freckles that cover her cheeks and nose. Horse experience: Natalia has been riding her whole life and has dabbled in the jumping ring from ages 8-12 and then began learning the ins and outs of polo. She competed from 15-17 with a polo team and won junior nationals. She was born with horses in her blood and had the best coaches. Background & family: Natalia has a relatively good relationship with her parents. Unfortunately she doesn't have any siblings although she wished she did. She is close with her mother and they run the breeding program although its small around 5 foals are born each year. Her father can be quite hard on her as he wants her to succeed. He is very protective and will stand his ground. Once you prove you are capable of defending yourself and are a tough competitor he is friendly. He pushes you to be the best but he is also generous with the breaks you get along with any resources you may need. Piercings or tattoos: She has 3 ear piercings 2 on the lobe and 1 on the cartilage. Likes: dressing up for galas and events, being on foal watch and helping assist their broodmares and foals, Signing autographs, and taking pictures with kids at matches, going to the beach, hacking out, training the green horses, pasta and nights out, and music
Dislikes: Her father pressuring her, Other teams players trying to sabotage her, La Barren their rival team, rainy days, frat guys thinking they have what it takes, guys just trying to use her for her and her families wealth, and inhumane horse care Origin (where are they coming from): family was born and raised in Argentina and they both moved to the US to play polo and run this special program to offer more opportunities to young riders. She was born and raised in FL, but they visit Argentina frequently. Crush (if applies): none yet Other: She doesn't ride as competitively anymore as she was in a very bad accident. She has completely recovered but it was very traumatic, she didn't know if she would ever be able to ride again. Personality: Eira is a hard-working mare, she is very fast and easy to turn. Natalia used to ride and compete more with her until her accident and now she practices for fun and helps out with the young riders team. She is able to demonstrate and do everything normally but they both get nervous on the field with other horses, more so Natalia rather than Eira. Name: Diablo Egon Agilolf First Name Meaning: Devil Middle Name Meaning: Terror at the Edge of the Sword Last Name Meaning: To be Feared Like the Wolf Nickname: Diablo Gender: Male Age: 21 years Height: 5'11 Weight: 176 lbs Horse Experience: He has been with horses his entire life, and could ride before he could walk. He competes in almost every sport, but polo has a special place in his heart. From the time he was 12 he was winning shows and loving it all, from Dressage to Jumping to Gaming to Herding. He had a horse that did it all, but a year ago, they died unexpectedly. Since then, he hasn't ridden as much, but is hoping to get back into it as he was requested to join the team. Appearance: Diablo is a little taller than normal, but quite lean and slim. He is well muscled with string, broad shoulders and a wide chest, though the muscle is wiry and taught. He has a darker tanned skin tone with brown hair so dark it looks black. A bit of small scruff on his jaw and upper lip, also a seal brown color. Diablo has striking Amber eyes that will almost glint red if he is standing in any type of light. He has a handsome, well sculpted face with a sharp jawline and a strong chin. When Diablo is doing something where he doesn't want to be seen he is usually wearing a black or navy blue button up t-shirt, with a leather jacket over it. He will wear black cargo pants at that time, and black cargo boots. Though, when Diablo is not working, he was a lot of the times wear a light blue Hawaiian shirt with yellow leaves on it, sometimes with different color mixtures, and faded blue jeans. He has a scar on his right cheekbone that is quite prominent, making him look quite a lot scarier. He also has various big and small scars other places, from various fights in bars and other places. Piercings or Tattoos: He doesn't have ay piercings, but he does have a full right arm tattoo. It's done in black and white. Four snakes curl around and down his arm with their fangs bared near his wrist, with roses and vines of thorns wrapping around that. It's a rather deadly looking yet beautiful tattoo. Personality: Diablo is a determined individual, and if he sets his mind to something it will happen. He is a strong, hard worker and always wants to make things better than they are. Underneath that is his joking attitude... he can never resist a good joke, or a way to tease somebody, or even insult them. He is considered rude by most because of his jokes, but he is really not. Diablo always has a playful, mischievous sparkle in his eyes. He has a streak of a temper with certain things, but overall is pretty laid back. Background: He was born in Texas and raised in Texas, with a rich horse family. They had a small cattle ranch but competed mostly with the horses, breeding and selling them. He had everything with the horses he could ever want, but never took advantage of it, which surprised most people. More in RP. Crush: None yet. Other: He tore his shoulder out in the same accident his horse died in, badly wrecking it and shattering his upper arm bone. It is much less mobile and more painful to use now. Full Name: Hazel Jane Kensington Age: 21 Gender: Female Personality: Hazel is rather direct, never outright rude or snobby to someone's face but not tolerent of people she doesn't like. She takes her families name very seriously and has a small friend group that fits her "values." Her true unmasked personality comes out around horses, especially in competitive environments, she loves a challenge and loves having 'rivals'. Her best friend is on the 'rival' team so she spends a lot of time after games fraternising with the others, usually egging them on in a lighthearted way. She does find it hard to maintain long term friendships, and relationships are even worse. She appreciates her upbringing but can fail to connect with people who aren't from money as she just doesn't understand the struggles and hard work that some people have had to face. She loves to throw moneya at a problem which has not been well accepted with friends in the past. Appearance: 5'2 65kgs, Slightly triangle shaped, lean and well maintained. Medium length ginger hair and forest green eyes. Her skin is fair and covered in freckles, she doesn't tan in the summer. Horse experience: Hazel grew up pottering around on ponies, but her true love for horses began when she moved to Europe and began entering youth classes. She quickly gravitated into the western scene as she lost a lot of confidence with jumping and found western more engaging than dressage. When her family moved to America she was gifted by her father a lovely cutting gelding that got her name in the spotlight and went on to groom and ride for other people on the pro circuit- which is of course where she was scouted for the polo team. She purchased a horse specifically for polo, and struck gold with Dory. She spends more time with Dory than she does with her own family. Background & family: Hazel was born to an affluent family in Australia, her father's family were generations deep into the gold industry and her mother was a "stay-at-home" mother who spent most of her time mingling with upper society. Hazel is not overly affectionate towards her parents, but she is very respectful and gracious for the life she was given. Her family moved to Europe when she was 8, and then to America when she was 15 as her father was offered better business ventures. Piercings or tattoos: Simple lobe piercing in each ear. Likes: Working with youngstock, riding "problem" horses, cats, hiking and golf.
Dislikes: Overconfident/cocky people, kids from "new money" who love to flaunt it, open bodies of water. Personality: Dory is a sensitive mare, she is very athletic and will get the job done but requires a patient rider. She was bred for polo and loves her job, but will absolutely throw a tantrum occasionally. She is great on the polo feed and benefits from being busy, not one to stable for days on end unless it is necessary. She has been known to kick out when being hosed and prefers buckets and sponges. Other: Dory is a deep rich shade of chestnut with 3 white socks and a star + snip combo. |
