Wonderful job cutting out your horse! Maybe smudge the horse a little bit less to reserve some of the quality and muscle tone.

Use Brightness/Contrast, Colour Balance to help blend your horses into the background more and make them look as if they belong. (If you use PS then you can play around with Auto Tone/Colour/Contrast)

Horses need shadows ;) Shadows, though you may not realize it at first, make a huge difference in how real you picture looks.

Maybe try adding some highlights/lowlights to help your horse pop.

Most artists also like to redraw eyes to give them a little more life.

Hope this helps! Also, there are tons of tutorials on DA that can help you improve! You are doing very good!

It's a great precut. It is, however, overly smudged in my opinion. Much like Trinity said, not smudging as much preserves detail.
Adjust the hue/brightness so it blends better with the background
Adding shadows and drawing on hair and highlights will give it a ton more detail also.

Great job

What art program do you use?

If the shadow stays the sharp the you need to have it outline the horse more. I think in this case the shadow can be softer. Try adding darker spots and softer sides a bit more.

Also don't blur the background as much. Keep the foreground sharp and the background slightly blurred if you are going to do it.

I think the horse could still use a little less smudging.
